Abstract: Heating of an image capture apparatus battery to an operational temperature using an attached heater device is described. The image capture apparatus includes an image capture apparatus battery configured to functionally operate at a first operational temperature. The heater device includes a heater device battery configured to operate at a second operational temperature lower than the first operational temperature. A heater controller is implemented in one of the image capture apparatus or the heater device. The heater controller is configured to initiate a heating process based on a first defined event, set a current level of the heater device, maintain or adjust the current level of the heater device until a second defined event, and display an indication that the image capture apparatus can detect, capture, or record an image based on the image capture apparatus battery attaining the first operational temperature.

Abstract: The present teachings provide an image capture device that includes a lens barrel disposed in a body of the image capture device. A bayonet is coupled to the lens barrel and includes one or more fingers that project outward from the bayonet. The image capture device also includes a replaceable lens module configured to releasably couple to the bayonet. The replaceable lens module includes a retaining ring, a lens positioned in an opening of the retaining ring, and a spring plate coupled to an interior surface of the retaining ring. The spring plate is configured to engage the one or more fingers of the bayonet to releasably couple the replaceable lens module to the bayonet. Additionally, the spring plate is configured to elastically deform when the spring plate engages the one or more fingers of the bayonet to compress the replaceable lens module towards the lens barrel.

Abstract: An optical assembly for an image capture device that defines an optical axis and includes an optical module having: a lens holder; a first optical group supported by the lens holder; a lens barrel axially movable in relation to the lens holder along the optical axis; a second optical group supported by the lens barrel such that the second optical group is axially movable in relation to the first optical group along the optical axis to thereby adjust focus of the image capture device; and an adjustment member in engagement with the lens barrel such that rotation of the adjustment member causes axial movement of the lens barrel and the second optical group along the optical axis. In various embodiments, the adjustment member may be configured for rotation about an axis of rotation that extends in (generally) parallel relation or in (generally) orthogonal relation to the optical axis.

The replaceable lens module includes a housing and a lens positioned in a lens recess of the housing. Additionally, when an impact force that meets a predetermined threshold is applied to an exterior surface of the replaceable lens module, the housing is configured to compress the biasing element and disengage the lens barrel.
