Abstract: The invention relates to a method for hydrogenation of a phthalate compound. According to the method, the generation of by-products may be inhibited during hydrogenation, and thus, catalytic activity may be improved and catalyst life may be prolonged, thereby increasing the efficiency and economical feasibility of commercial processes. And, since the hydrogenation product prepared by the method has high purity and low acid value, it has excellent quality as a plasticizer, and thus, can be used for various products.
