Abstract: Techniques for controlling moisture content of build material in a three-dimensional printer are provided. The system includes a vessel to supply the build material into a build material conveying system. The vessel includes an air inlet to receive a flow of air to fluidize the build material. The system also includes an air conditioner to control the humidity of the air and provide a controlled level of moisture content to the build material.

Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include a first pressure sensor to measure a first pressure level at a first height within a particulate material contained in a container and a second pressure sensor to measure a second pressure level at a second height within the container, in which a gas is to be supplied into the particulate material at a predefined velocity, wherein the first pressure sensor is to measure the first pressure level and the second pressure sensor is to measure the second pressure level while the gas is supplied into the particulate material at the predefined velocity. The apparatus may also include a controller that may determine a pressure gradient from the first pressure level and the second pressure level and calculate a height of the particulate material in the container from the determined pressure gradient.

Abstract: In an example implementation, a build material hopper for a 3D printing system includes a container housing, a top for receiving build material, and a bottom. The build material hopper also includes a fluidizing drain assembled in the bottom of the container housing to aerate build material within the drain to facilitate passing build material through the drain.

Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include a controller to identify a property of particulate material contained in a container and to determine, based upon the identified property of the particulate material, a parameter of a supply of gas fed into a conditioning assembly to condition the particulate material contained in the container. The controller may further control a mechanism to supply the gas at the determined parameter into the conditioning assembly.

Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include a hopper having side walls, a bed positioned within the side walls, and a porous membrane supported above the bed. The porous membrane may have a plurality of pores having sizes that are between about 5 microns and about 15 microns and having a density of about 10 and about 30 percent of a material forming the porous membrane. A space between the bed and the porous membrane is to be pressurized with a gas and the gas is to flow through the porous membrane to fluidize particulate material provided on the porous membrane. The apparatus may also include a drain opening extending through the porous membrane and a drain aperture extending through the bed.
