A management system that generates a plan which is a countermeasure against an event occurring in a computer system includes: a plan generating unit configured to generate a plan according to the event; and an indicator generating unit configured to generate, as a performance change evaluation indicator of the plan, information on a change in performance of a resource of the computer system, which can occur due to other subject's process executed by the other subject different from a subject of the plan when the plan generated by the plan generating unit is executed.

Provided is a management system managing a computer system including apparatuses to be monitored. The management system holds configuration information on the computer system, analysis rules and plan execution effect rules. The analysis rules each associates a causal event that may occur in the computer system with derivative events that may occur by effects of the causal event and defines the causal event and the derivative events with types of components in the computer system. The plan execution effect rules each indicates types of components that may be affected by a computer system configuration change and specifics of the effects. The management system identifies a first event that may occur when a first plan changing the computer system configuration is executed using the plan execution effect rules and the configuration information, and identifies a range where the first event affects using the analysis rules and the configuration information.

The difference in operational management service among a plurality of storage apparatuses is detected by an apparatus that provides at least one operational management service to the storage apparatuses of a plurality of user sites via a communication network. The apparatus classifies the storage apparatuses of the plurality of user sites on the basis of use statuses, and generate at least one group including the plurality of storage apparatuses; and a service difference extraction unit configured to detect, out of the plurality of storage apparatuses that constitute the group, a first storage device that is inferior in terms of a predetermined index and a second storage device that is superior to the first storage device in terms of the predetermined index, and extract a difference between a first operational management service applied to the first storage apparatus and a second operational management service applied to the second storage apparatus.

The computer system also includes a management server to store performance information regarding the logical volume and/or RAID group and mapping information regarding a relationship among components of the computer system in view of logical and physical connections. The management server determines whether a correspondence relationship exists among the components by referring to the performance information, and outputs a relationship among the components based on the determination of the correspondence relationship and the mapping information.
