Abstract: Reversed glenoid implants, and related kits and methods, are described that include an anchor member having a proximal head and a baseplate having a distal end with a first aperture sized to accept the proximal head of the anchor member. The proximal head is inserted along an un-threaded length thereof from the distal end into the first aperture, and the anchor member is restrained against axial translation with respect to the baseplate but is permitted to rotate with respect to the baseplate.

Abstract: A glenoid prosthesis includes a head portion and an anchor. The head portion includes a first surface adapted to contact a glenoid and an opposed second surface that is at least partially concave. The anchor extends from the first surface of the head portion and terminates at a distal end. At least one first circular member is disposed between the head portion and the distal end of the anchor and encircle the anchor. At least one second circular member is disposed between the head portion and the distal end of the anchor and encircles the anchor. The at least one first circular member is adapted to engage cortical bone of a glenoid and the at least one second circular member is adapted to engage cancellous bone of a glenoid when the glenoid prosthesis is implanted.

Abstract: A shoulder assembly is provided which includes a base member including a collar; a helical structure extending from the collar in a distal direction; and a first pathway projecting distally of the collar and through the helical structure adjacent to an inner periphery thereof, the first pathway being generally transverse to the helical structure and extending in a space between successive portions of the helical structure; and a locking device comprising a proximal support and a first arm projecting distally of the proximal support, the first arm configured to be disposed in the first pathway projecting distally of the collar when the proximal support is disposed adjacent to the collar; where the first arm is disposed through bone in the space between successive portions of the helical structure when the shoulder assembly is implanted.

Abstract: An inserter includes a first end, a second end, and a body extending between the first end and the second end. A first impacting surface is disposed at the first end, and a second impacting surface is disposed adjacent to the second end. An interface disposed at the second end and is configured to engage an implant. The first impacting surface is configured to direct a first impacting force along the body of the inserter in a first direction, and the second impacting surface is configured to direct a second impacting force along the body in a second direction that is different from the first direction. Methods of use also are disclosed.

Abstract: Provided is a method of assembling an articular component of a prosthetic shoulder joint. The method includes: engaging an end of a coupler of a joint implant with a coupling portion of another component of the joint implant; providing relative rotation between the end of the coupler and the coupling portion of the other component of the joint implant along a continuous range of rotational positions while the end is engaged with the coupling portion of the other component of the joint implant; selecting an amount of eccentricity corresponding to a position within the continuous range of rotational position; and securing the other component of the joint implant to the end of the coupler at the selected amount of eccentricity.

Abstract: Provided is a glenoid implant for a shoulder prosthesis that includes: a baseplate including a proximal end, a distal end, an outer periphery, and one or more recesses that extend therethrough adjacent to the outer periphery and extending from the proximal end to the distal end; an internal member disposed in each of the one or more recesses, the internal member defining an aperture extending from the proximal end to the distal end through the internal member; and a screw for each of the at least one internal member, the screw configured to be placed through the aperture, the screw having an external threaded surface. The internal threaded surface of the internal member has more thread starts than the external threaded surface of the screw.
