    Abstract: A method for the selective methanation of a gaseous mixture containing hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and carbon monoxide with the carbon monoxide being present in an amount up to about 1 percent, which contemplates the contacting of said gaseous mixture with a Raney-type nickel catalyst containing from about 30-35 percent nickel, 5-18 percent aluminum, and balance Al2O3.3H2O; at elevated temperatures.
