    Abstract: According to one or more embodiments of the present invention, a computer-implemented method includes allocating a set of computing resources to a first partition from a plurality of partitions in a computer server, and monitoring a usage duration of the set of computing resources by the first partition. The method further includes generating a billing statement based on the usage duration of the computing resources by the first partition. The method further includes detecting an abnormal event in operation of the first partition and adjusting one or more settings of the set of computing resources to increase processing capacity associated with the first partition to complete the abnormal event. The method further includes monitoring a first usage duration of the computing resources during completion of the abnormal event and adjusting the usage duration of based on the first usage duration, and adjusting the billing statement using the adjusted usage duration.

    Abstract: Embodiments of dynamically increasing the resources for a partition to compensate for an input/output (I/O) recovery event are provided. An aspect includes allocating a first set of resources to a partition that is hosted on a data processing system. Another aspect includes operating the partition on the data processing system using the first set of resources. Another aspect includes, based on detection of an input/output (I/O) recovery event associated with operation of the partition, determining a compensation for the I/O recovery event. Another aspect includes allocating a second set of resources in addition to the first set of resources to the partition, the second set of resources corresponding to the compensation for the I/O recovery event. Another aspect includes operating the partition on the data processing system using the first set of resources and the second set of resources.

    Abstract: Embodiments include method, systems and computer program products for validating an event record. The method includes securing, by a processor, a log of one or more events being performed a computer by adding tamper detection to the log. Securing includes generating, by the processor, a first event record in response to an event being performed by the computer and generating, by the processor, a second event record in response to the first event record being generated. The second event record includes a first signature and a second signature corresponding to the first event record. The processor, in response to a request to detect tampering of the first event record, validates the first event record based on the first signature and the second signature in the second event record.
