Abstract: A hand therapy kit includes a housing having a lid that is expandable from a folded position to an unfolded position to expose a working surface on an inside of the lid. An elastic cord is attached at two or more anchor points on the working surface to define at least one gap for receiving a finger. The finger can be therapeutically exercised by moving from a first position proximal to the working surface to a second position distal to the working surface. The hand therapy kit can also include removable hand therapy modules.

Abstract: A hand therapy kit includes hand therapy modules and a housing having defined receptacles in which the hand therapy modules are removably disposed. A module presence sensor is disposed in each receptacle to detect the presence or absence of the corresponding hand therapy module. A microprocessor disposed in the hand therapy kit sends the module presence sensor data to a remote computer that analyzes the module presence sensor data to determine whether the patient is complying with a prescribed treatment regimen. The remote computer can generate warnings, alerts, and/or notifications when noncompliance is detected.

Abstract: A device that fits on a person's finger to reduce the effect, appearance, and/or sensitivity of a scar. The device includes a therapeutic material such as a therapeutic cream that can be released upon the application of heat such as frictional heat generated during use of the device. The device can also be used as an applicator to distribute and work therapeutic material into the scar after the therapeutic material has been placed directly onto the scar tissue. A method of manufacturing the device includes mixing the therapeutic material, a moldable material, and an optional curing agent to form a compound material, molding the compound material, heating the compound material or the molded structure, and curing the molded structure. Alternatively, the curing agent can be absorbed into the cured structure.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a device that fits a person's finger and that can be used to reduce the effect, appearance, and/or sensitivity of a scar over a period of time. Aspects of the device include its form factor and material construction so that a contoured surface of the device fitted to a user's finger or fingers can be used to therapeutically rub an affected region of skin that is scarred. In a treatment regimen extending over a plurality of time periods, a plurality of devices in a set provide a system for systematically reducing a scar. Other aspects provide a therapeutic cream to aid in the healing and amelioration of said scar.
