Abstract: A network device (e.g., a user equipment (UE), or a new radio NB (gNB)) can process or generate a configuration of a multi-subframe scheduling signal to configure an unlicensed band transmission that comprises an hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback or a plurality of time transmission intervals (TTIs). The unlicensed band transmission can be configured dynamically with a number of N subframes, N comprising an integer greater than one, based on a downlink control information (DCI) or a radio resource control (RRC) signaling, which comprises the one or more subframes of the multi-subframe scheduling signal.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable for configured grant uplink (UL) transmission in new radio unlicensed (NR-U) is disclosed. The apparatus can comprise one or more processors. The one or more processors can be configured to select, at the UE, a hybrid automatic repeat request process identifier (HARQ process ID) from a set of HARQ IDs. The one or more processors can be configured to insert the HARQ process ID into uplink control information (UCI) on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). The one or more processors can be configured to encode, at the UE, the UCI for transmission to a next generation node B (gNB) via a configured grant uplink transmission using the HARQ process ID.

Abstract: Embodiments of a Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and User Equipment (UE) are generally described herein. The gNB may transmit control signaling to configure transmission of position reference signals (PRSs) by a plurality of transmit-receive points (TRPs). The gNB may receive, from the UE, for each of the TRPs, a set of signal location parameters (SLPs). The gNB may perform an iterative process to estimate a position of the UE. For a current iteration, the gNB may: determine a current estimate of the position of the UE based on a current plurality of sets of SLPs; and determine a cost function for each of the current plurality of sets of SLPs. The gNB may determine, based on the cost functions, a next plurality of sets of SLPs for a next estimate of the position of the UE.

Abstract: Examples include techniques for using a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for downlink transmissions. In some examples information elements (IEs) for either a physical multicast channel (PMCH) or a physical multicast control channel (PMCCH) include information to indicate an MCS for downlink transmission over a PMCH or PMCCH between an evolved Node B (eNB) and user equipment (UE). For these examples, the information in the IEs include indications of whether higher order modulation for quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) have or have not been enabled. Both the UE and the eNB may operate in compliance with one or more 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE) standards.

In various embodiments, a transmitting device may assign one or more primary carriers to perform listen before talk (LBT) operations, with non-primary carriers performing a channel sensing operation at the end of the LBT operations of at least one primary channel. In various embodiments, the LBT operations at the primary carriers may use a shared random countdown number or an independent random countdown.

Abstract: Described is a UE to communicate with an eNB on a network, the UE comprising: an antenna to receive messaging from eNB indicating switching to 256-QAM scheme from an existing non-256-QAM scheme; and a table component for storing soft channel bits based on Nsoft such that the number and value of the soft channel bits for using the 256-QAM scheme is substantially equal to the number and value of the soft channel bits when the UE is not using the 256-QAM scheme. Described is an eNB comprising: an antenna to transmit messaging to a UE indicating switching to 256-QAM scheme from an existing non-256-QAM scheme; and an encoder to encode data using memory usage size based on Nsoft such that the number and value of the Nsoft for using the 256-QAM scheme is substantially equal to the number and value of the Nsoft when the eNB is not using the 256-QAM scheme.
