Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to restrictions in portable computing device electric power to accommodate reductions in the voltage level of a power source. An apparatus comprises a controller caused to receive configuration data from a main processor circuit specifying a voltage level threshold and selected action to take to reduce electric power to a first component in response to the voltage level falling below the first voltage level threshold, recurringly monitor the voltage level; based on the voltage level falling below the first voltage level threshold, take the first selected action and transmit a signal to the main processor circuit indicating that the voltage level has fallen below the first voltage level threshold and that the first selected action has been taken; transmit the voltage level to the main processor circuit; receive a signal from the main processor circuit to undo the first selected action; and so undo.

Abstract: Particular embodiments described herein provide for an electronic device that can be configured to enable a modular printed circuit board separation tool. The separation tool can include a main body and a plurality of separation blades that extend from the main body. Each of the plurality of separation blades can be tapered and configured to fit between connections of a testing housing and a power and signal supply housing and when pressure is applied to the main body, the separation blades slide between the connections of the testing housing and the power and signal supply housing and separate the testing housing and the power and signal supply housing.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses relating to resolving roles for dual role serial bus devices are described. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a serial bus receptacle to receive a serial bus plug of a device, a power supply electrically coupled to the serial bus receptacle, a multiple role toggling circuit to toggle the power supply between a power source role and a power sink role, wherein the device comprises a second power supply to toggle between a power source role and a power sink role, and a randomizer circuit to cause a plurality of different, toggling duty cycles and/or a plurality of different, toggling frequencies to be applied to the multiple role toggling circuit.

Abstract: An electronic device may include a power driver to receive power and to selectively provide power, and a plurality of power transfer contacts to receive power from the power driver and to provide power to an external device. A controller may control the power driver to provide power to the plurality of power transfer contacts based on a plurality of time periods having a frequency shifted such that a length of a second one of the time periods is different than a length of a first one of the time periods. The controller may control the power driver to disconnect power from the power driver to the power transfer contacts during a plurality of test time durations. The controller may obtain data during the plurality of test time durations.
