Abstract:
An improved baffle (24) for directing the light discharged from a deuterium lamp includes a plate-like member configured as a cylindrical segment (25), an aperture (27) provided through a central portion (26) of the member, and a flattened portion (26) about the aperture. The flattened portion is of such size and has a surface of such reflectivity as to substantially eliminate interference ring(s) of discontinuous light intensity from the light output of the lamp. A deuterium employing the improved baffle affords the advantage of markedly-increased light intensity, as compared with prior art baffles, at selected wavelengths.
Abstract:
A process for insert molding at least a portion of a flexible webbing material within at least a portion of a plastic injection molded part produces a product having a plastic injection molded part with a contour formed by a front surface and a rear surface, and a flexible webbing material having at least a portion embedded within the injection molded plastic part, while a remaining portion of the flexible webbing material extends externally with respect to the injection molded plastic part. An injection molding die is provided for insert molding the portion of the flexible webbing material within at least a portion of the plastic injection molded part. The die defines a chamber for receiving molten plastic during an injection molding step. The chamber is defined by the die having a surface for forming the contour of a front surface of at least one part to be injection molded, and another portion of the chamber having a surface for forming the contour of a rear surface of the at least one part to be injection molded. The chamber is formed by at least two separable portions of the die moveable away from one another along a parting line. A seal is provided along at least a portion of the parting line of the chamber where a flexible webbing material extends internally within the chamber. The seal is a high temperature resistant material selected to have sufficient flexibility to prevent damage to the flexible webbing material during the sealing step.
Abstract:
A tool 15 for clamping and hand holding of a head 16 of a fish 17 while its body 19 is skinned. A pair of handles 21, 22 in tool 15 are manually manipulated to provide a pivotal action for prongs 31, 32 mounted on extensions members 25, 26, respectively, to the handles 21, 22, piercing the head 16. The single prong 32 and the prongs 31 grip the head 16 while skinning of the fish's body 17 proceeds after cutting a line 46 behind its head 16. Bosses 37, 38 are provided in the handles 21, 22, respectively, engaging one another in a full closure mode for the tool 15. A pocket 40 is provided in handle 22 for seating of a portion 39 of handle 21 adjacent a pivotal assembly 23 for handles, extensions, and prongs, the bosses 37, 38 in alignment with one another for cooperative engagement to limit pivotal action of the tool 15 to its closed mode.
Abstract:
An exercise apparatus is provided which includes a chair, an arm-exercising station, and a leg-exercising station. The arm-exercising station is mounted in the armrests of the chair and includes a support frame attached to the base portion of the chair, a pair of elongated left and right exercise bars disposed within the left and right armrest portions of the chair operable for selective pivotal movement within the armrest portions, and a resistance device attached to the bars for resisting the pivotal movement of the bars. The leg-exercising station is mounted within the footrest portion of the chair and includes an elongated support bar including a hollow outer pole and an inner pole received in the outer pole for upward telescoping movement, and a pedal assembly attached to the support bar and configured for rotational movement thereabout.
