    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel having a display area where subpixels for emitting light in different colors are arranged in a matrix shape, the display panel having a peripheral area where terminals and a drive circuit are formed; and metal lines for touch sensing on the display panel. The display panel has a non-rectangular shape with a curve part of a contour in a plan view. The metal lines extend in at least two directions and cross at portions to form a mesh shape. The subpixels include some subpixels arranged stepwise in an outline area of the display area next to the curve part of the contour. None of the metal lines is formed on the subpixels arranged stepwise.

    Abstract: A touchscreen includes a plurality of X electrodes extending in a first direction and arranged in parallel in a second direction, a plurality of Y electrodes extending in the second direction so as to intersect the X electrodes and arranged in parallel in the first direction, and pedestal layers formed at respective intersections between the plurality of X electrodes and the plurality of Y electrodes, wherein an intersection portion of each Y electrode is formed under the pedestal layer, wherein a part of an intersection portion of each X electrode is formed on the pedestal layer and both ends thereof are electrically connected to adjacent electrode portions of the X electrodes, and wherein a profile of a portion of the pedestal layer intersecting the intersection portion of the X electrode has a nonlinear shape when viewed from a direction perpendicular to the substrate.

    Abstract: In a capacitive touch panel, edge regions of the panel display generally have poor accuracy of coordinate detection of a touch point as compared to the intermediate region of the panel display. A display device includes a plurality of first electrodes arranged at predetermined pitches and extending in a X-direction; and a plurality of second electrodes arranged at predetermined pitches and extending in a Y-direction, wherein both endmost first electrodes of the plurality of first electrodes have a smaller pitch than the other first electrodes, both endmost second electrodes of the plurality of second electrodes have a smaller pitch than the other second electrodes, and the display device is configured to detect a touch based on a capacitance variation at one or more of intersections of the plurality of first electrodes with the plurality of second electrodes.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a light shielding plate having an opening, a protective plate, and a coordinate input device having a transparent substrate, and a first flexible interconnect substrate.     Abstract: A manufacturing method of a touch panel includes the steps of providing a substrate, forming a first conductive film on the substrate, forming a first mask on the first conductive film, etching the first conductive film to form electrode portions and lower intersect portions of the touch panel, forming an insulating film made of a negative resist on the first conductive film, and forming a contact hole above the electrode portion by removing the insulating film. The steps further include forming a second conductive film on the insulating film, forming a second mask on the second conductive film, etching the second conductive film to form an upper intersect portion connected between two adjacent electrode portions via the contact hole and intersecting with the lower intersect portion, and forming protective film on the second conductive film.
