Abstract:
In one aspect of the present invention, a drill bit has a body intermediate a shank and a working face. The working face has a plurality of blades converging towards a center of the working face and diverging towards a gauge of the working face. A first blade has at least one pointed cutting element with a carbide substrate bonded to a diamond working end with a pointed geometry at a non-planar interface and a second blade has at least one shear cutting element with a carbide substrate bonded to a diamond working end with a flat geometry.
Abstract:
A high impact resistant tool having a sintered body of diamond or diamond-like particles in a metal matrix bonded to a cemented metal carbide substrate at a non-planar interface, interface having at least two circumferentially adjacent faces, outwardly angled from a central axis of the substrate. The sintered body has a thickness of 0.100 to 0.500 inches proximate each face. The sintered body also has a flat working surface, wherein the tool has an angle of 30 to 60 degrees between the flat working surface and each face.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method provide an adjustable, aimed, lighting system that may be selectively secured to and removed from the ferrule of a paintbrush for illuminating the edge of the bristles during a cutting-in process. The light may be moved as appropriate, and may be aimed to ride with the brush, thus illuminating directly at the edge where paint is being deposited. Thus, precise deposition of paint may be done in spite of the shadows cast by the body of the painter and the bulk of the brush during much of such cutting-in procedures.
Abstract:
A drill bit comprising a body intermediate a threaded shank and a working face with the working face comprising a plurality of blades converging towards a center of the working face and diverging towards a gauge of the working face. Junk slots comprising a base are formed by the plurality of blades. At least one blade comprising at least one culling surface with a carbide substrate is bonded to a diamond working end. At least one high pressure nozzle is disposed between at least two blades and within a nozzle bore formed into an elevated surface extending from the base of the junk slots. The elevated surface is disposed adjacent the diamond working end of the least one blade.
Abstract:
A device (10) for providing an indication of loads exerted on a vehicle frame (12) comprises a sensing unit (22) mounted to and between the frame (12) and the vehicle axle (14) and for detecting vertical displacement of the frame (12) relative to the axle (14) when loads are exerted on the frame (12). The sensing unit (22) comprises an arm (126) pivotally mounted to the frame (12), through a pair of telescoping tubes (32, 44), and an adjustment rod (124) movably mounted to and between the arm (126) and the axle (14). When a load is exerted on the frame (12), the same depresses relative to the axle (14) and the arm (124) rotates. Rotational movement of the arm (124) is measured by a clinometer (128) mounted thereto and which converts the angular measurement into a coherent digital or analogue readout displayed by a receiving unit (26).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for selectively replacing any of a plurality of different types of railroad car door roller assemblies conventionally used with different types of railroad car door tracks. The method includes supplying a roller assembly replacement kit which includes a housing having a pair of spaced end sections wherein each of the end sections is constructed and arranged to rotatably support a roller member for movement on a cooperating one of the tracks. Each of the end sections has a pair of opposed side walls having downwardly projecting feet thereon. An intermediate section rigidly interconnects the end sections and an upright aperture is provided in the intermediate section. The kit also includes separate rigid guide blocks or pads, at least one hook member, and at least one threaded member. In replacing one selected type of roller assembly, the aperture in the housing is threaded and a threaded member is threadably secured into the threaded aperture. The housing then may be used to replace one type of roller assembly used in connection with one type of cooperating track. Other types of roller assemblies may be replaced in various ways including by welding guide blocks to the feet, by severing two feet, then welding guide blocks to each of the remaining feet, and welding the hook member to the top of the end section of the housing, or by severing two feet and welding J-shaped hooks to the remaining feet.
Abstract:
A sous vide reheating device preferably includes at least two water heating chambers with each chamber having a heating device and a thermostat for controlling the temperature of the water in the chamber. An agitation mechanism is provided to circulate the water in each chamber. Each chamber is preferably divided into a plurality of sub-chambers with each sub-chamber having an associated timer to measure the amount of time elapsed for that sub-chamber. The device may include a plate storage and warming mechanism and has a work space for preparing the sous vide foods for service to a consumer.
Abstract:
A dental floss produced with dips, rises and knobs used for dental hygiene. The dental floss may be made of two polymers (synthetic compounds), either Nylon or Teflon. The dental floss is designed for removing debris and plaque from between the teeth and between the teeth and gums.(I would not what to be restricted from using other materials should they be developed in the future. (Flosses have been made up silks, etc. in the past).
Abstract:
In one aspect of the invention, a high impact resistant tool includes a superhard material bonded to a cemented metal carbide substrate at a non-planar interface. The superhard material has a substantially pointed geometry with a sharp apex having a radius of curvature of 0.050 to 0.125 inches. The superhard material also has a thickness of 0.100 to 0.500 inches thickness from the apex to a central region of the cemented metal carbide substrate.
