Abstract: Methods for producing a composition containing a hardly water-soluble aromatic compound are described which involve Step (1), including Step (1-1) for preparing a material comprising: (A) a hardly water-soluble aromatic compound, (B) a polyol, and (C) an aqueous medium, where a content of the (A) hardly water-soluble aromatic compound in the material for heating is below a saturation solubility of the (A) hardly water-soluble aromatic compound in a solvent having the same composition at 25° C. The obtained solution is then heated in Step (1-2) at normal pressure at a temperature of less than 100° C., to obtain a hardly water-soluble aromatic compound solution 1. Step (2) includes adding water to the hardly water-soluble aromatic compound solution 1 such that the resulting hardly water-soluble aromatic compound solution 2 has a concentration of the (A) hardly water-soluble aromatic compound above a saturation solubility at 25° C.

Abstract: Provided is a method of producing a solid dispersion that can improve solubility of a hardly soluble polyphenol in water. Specifically, provided is a method of producing a solid dispersion containing an amorphous hardly soluble polyphenol, the method including the steps of: mixing (A) a hardly soluble polyphenol, (B) at least one selected from the group consisting of a plant-derived polysaccharide, a seaweed-derived polysaccharide, and a microorganism-derived polysaccharide, a plant-derived polypeptide, and a microorganism-derived polypeptide, and (C) at least one selected from the group consisting of a monosaccharide and a disaccharide, followed by melting of the mixture by heating; and solidifying the molten product by cooling.

Abstract: Provided is a production method for an ellagic acid composition excellent in solubility in water. The production method for an ellagic acid composition includes the steps of: mixing an aqueous medium with a raw material which contains a guava leaf extract and which contains, in solids thereof, 1 to 5% by mass of free ellagic acid to prepare a material for heat treatment; and subjecting the material for heat treatment to heat treatment at from 100 to 180° C.
