A toner case includes a case main body and a shutter, a lever, a rotating member and a transmitting member attached to the case main body. The case main body includes a discharge port discharging a toner. The shutter is rotatably attached to open/close the discharge port and includes a shutter side gear. The lever is rotatably attached to operate the shutter and includes a lever main body that includes a lever side gear meshing with the shutter side gear. The rotating member is installed in a rotatable state. The transmitting member is rotatably attached to transmit the rotation to the rotating member and includes a transmitting member main body that covers the outside of the lever main body and includes an aperture. The aperture exposes a meshing part of the lever side gear and shutter side gear when the transmitting member is located to a predetermined rotational displacement.

An image forming apparatus includes an image carrying member, a developing device, a toner holder, a toner holder mount portion, and a locking member. The toner holder is dismountably mounted in the toner holder mount portion and stores toner for the developing device. The toner holder mount portion has a pair of side support rails supporting a side face of the toner holder. The locking member is adjacent to an end part, in the toner holder mounting direction, of at least one side support rail, and is swingable between a first position restraining mounting and dismounting of the toner holder and a second position allowing mounting and dismounting of the toner holder. The locking member, in the second position, is on the extension line of the side support rails and, together with the side support rails, guides the toner holder to and from the toner holder mount portion.

A flange portion extending outward from a main shaft portion is disposed outside a side plate with respect to a position of an attachment member in a main direction when the attachment member is mounted to the side plate. A restriction slot is formed in the attachment member such that the flange portion can be fitted in and pass through the restriction slot. In the middle of the process where the attachment member is mounted to a second side plate in the main direction, the flange portion is fitted in the restriction slot, thereby the sheet detecting member is restricted from rotating, and one of a pair of projection portions of a sheet guide member is inserted in a hole of the attachment member.

A sheet feed device includes a device main body, a sheet feed cassette, a sheet conveyance path, a sheet feed roller, a retard roller, a support unit, and a pair of lock mechanisms. The retard roller is disposed to face the sheet feed roller in the device main body and, together with the sheet feed roller, forms a sheet feed nip portion through which the sheet is passed. The support unit is disposed in the device main body and supports the retard roller. The lock mechanisms are supported by the support unit in the device main body so as to face the wall portion of the sheet feed cassette. The lock mechanisms are disposed on both sides of the retard roller in the sheet width direction and lock the sheet feed cassette attached to the device main body and position the sheet feed cassette in the attachment direction.

An image forming apparatus includes a sheet feed cassette. The sheet feed cassette has a cylinder lock having a cylinder, and a turning unit coupled to the cylinder to be rotatable integrally with the cylinder. A switch switching part of the turning unit is configured to switch a power switch such that the power switch is in an ON state when an inner cylinder of the cylinder lock is at an unlocked position, and the power switch is in an OFF state when the inner cylinder is at a locked position. A cassette locking part of the turning unit is configured to place a sheet feed cassette of a standard sheet feeder in an unlocked state when the inner cylinder of the cylinder lock is at the unlocked position and place the sheet feed cassette in a locked state when the inner cylinder is at the locked position.

A locking mechanism for an opening/closing cover supported by an apparatus case in an openable and closable manner includes a rotational gear, a rack gear, a locking member and a spring member. The rotational gear rotates with an opening and closing operation of the opening/closing cover. The rack gear slides with a rotating of the rotational gear. The locking member has a hooking part facing the rack gear. The spring member pushes the hooking part toward the rack gear. The hooking part restricts a sliding of the rack gear in an opened state of the opening/closing cover.
