Abstract: More suitable image encoding technique and image decoding technique are provided. An image encoding method for encoding an image includes: a predicted image generation step of generating a predicted image of a synthesis prediction by performing synthesis processing of synthesizing a predicted image of an inter prediction and a predicted image of an intra prediction to an encoding-target block; and an encoding step of encoding a difference between the predicted image generated in the predicted image generation step and a pixel value of an image of the encoding-target block, the synthesizing processing includes weighting processing performed to the predicted image of the inter prediction and the predicted image of the intra prediction, and a weighting parameter of the weighting processing is determined in accordance with a type of the intra prediction.

Abstract: A projection video display apparatus includes a video input unit, a light source, a display element, a projection optical system, and a variable light adjusting function which changes the amount of light incident on the display element. Display modes using the variable light adjusting function are prepared, and one display mode of the display modes can be selected from a menu screen. Further, the display modes of the display video using the variable light adjusting function includes: a first display mode where the input video is displayed while changing a light adjusting amount in accordance with light adjusting control information, which is input from external equipment and is capable of controlling the variable light adjusting function in unit of frame of a projected video; and a second display mode where the input video is displayed while changing a light adjusting amount in accordance with the input video.

An air floating video display apparatus includes a display apparatus configured to display a video, a retroreflection plate configured to reflect video light from the display apparatus and display an air floating video in air by the reflected light, and an image processor configured to perform image processing to the video displayed on the display apparatus. When an air floating video including a display of an object is displayed as the air floating video displayed by the air floating video display apparatus, the image processor performs an image processing to an image of the object displayed on the display apparatus, and the image processing has input/output characteristics that convert an input image having a pixel with low luminance into an output image having a pixel with increased luminance.

Abstract: A broadcast receiving includes a broadcast receiver that receives a broadcast wave of a digital broadcasting service; a separator that separates coded program video data, program-cooperation data, and screen layout control information, from the broadcast wave; a video decoder that decodes the coded program video data to reproduce program video information; a cooperation information generator that interprets the program-cooperation data to generate program-cooperation information; and a control unit that, when an instruction to display a given screen is input while the presentation processor divides video display region into sub-regions based on the screen layout control information, places the program video information in one of the sub-regions, places the program-cooperation information in another sub-region, and outputs the data of the video display region as the video information, outputs information of the given screen as the video information without dividing the video display region based on the screen layout control information.
