Abstract:
An image processing system comprises a portable terminal and multiple image processing apparatuses. The portable terminal comprises: a determining portion which determines a target identification operation proving the identify of a target image processing apparatus; a display which displays information about the target identification operation; and an instructing portion which instructs the multiple image processing apparatuses to return answer information. The multiple image processing apparatuses each comprises: a detector which detects that the operation corresponding to the target identification operation has been performed; and a transmitter which transmits to the portable terminal, the answer information and apparatus information. Then the portable terminal further comprises: a receiver which receives the answer information and the apparatus information; and an identifying portion which identifies the target image processing apparatus based on the answer information and the apparatus information.
Abstract:
Disclose is a management system in which a reason why the user has selected an image forming apparatus that is currently in the power saving mode can be analyzed. The management system includes: plural image forming apparatuses, each of which is provided with a normal consumption mode and a power saving mode; a communication network through which the image forming apparatuses are communicatively coupled to each other; and a storage section that serves as a part of a management server coupled to the communication network or is included in at least one of the image forming apparatuses or another apparatus coupled to the communication network. When one of the image forming apparatuses resumes the normal consumption mode from the power saving mode to implement a job, the storage section acquires information in regard to an operating status of the other image forming apparatus so as to store the information therein.

A multifunction peripheral selecting apparatus for selecting a multifunction peripheral which is capable of controlling a power supply condition to a plurality of units and executing a plurality of functions each requiring different units, including: an acquisition section which acquires the power supply condition by each of the plurality of units of the multifunction peripheral; a memory section which previously stores required unit information indicating a correspondence relation between a function and units required for executing the function; an input section which receives a designation of the function; a selection section which selects a suitable multifunction peripheral for executing the designated function from a plurality of managed multifunction peripherals, based on an acquisition result by the acquisition section and the required unit information stored in the memory section; and a notification section which notifies a user of the selected suitable multifunction peripheral.
Abstract:
There is described a server and printer introducing method under the thin client environment, in which the user can easily select such a printer that is located at a position in the vicinity of the client terminal device currently used by the user, from a large number of printers coupled to the network. The server includes: a printer information storage section to store printer-IP addresses, each of which corresponds to each of the plurality of printers, therein; and a control section that compares a client-IP address of the client terminal device with each of the printer-IP addresses so as to yield a comparison result, when the server receives a printer introduction request sent from the client terminal device, and then, selects a specific printer from the plurality of printers, based on the comparison result, so as to send printer information of the specific printer back to the client terminal device.
