Abstract:
A load bearing apparatus is configured to simulate a payload. The load bearing apparatus includes a load member configured to simulate the mass of a payload, a frame having frame members, a plurality of retainers configured to support the load member, and first and second outer guides coupled to the load member. The plurality of retainers includes a first retainer positioned at a first height and configured to support the load member at the first height, and a second retainer positioned at a second height different from the first height and configured to support the load member at the second height. The first and second outer guides are coupled to the load member and are configured to receive therebetween at least one lifting member of a lifting device. By using load members of different weights and positioning them at varying heights, different centers of gravity can be achieved.
Abstract:
An Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) comprising a central processing unit (CPU) core portion and a graphics processing unit (GPU) core portion coupled to the CPU core portion. The GPU core portion includes a GPU core and a dedicated GPU debugging core, the dedicated GPU debugging core enabling performance of GPU centric debug functions.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods of processing kaolin to produce ultrafine hydrous kaolin. The methods involve processing gray crude kaolin by subjecting the kaolin crude to flotation and then centrifuging the kaolin to provide a fine stream that is subject to refinement. Also disclosed are systems for the automated processing of gray crude kaolin to produce the ultrafine hydrous kaolin and paint compositions that contain the ultrafine hydrous kaolin.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a pressure-balanced inertial valve assembly for use in marine seismic energy sources such as air guns. The valve includes a poppet having a first seal and a second seal. A pressure chamber containing a fluid under pressure communicating with the first and second seals to substantially balance the pressure across the seals. An inertial mass is coupled to the poppet. A coil assembly is disposed about the inertial mass. A central guide pin provides guided movement for axial translation.

Abstract:
A method and device for facilitating interaction between a touch screen device and a computing device are provided. The method includes displaying a pointer location indicator (mouse cursor) on the touch screen device. The mouse cursor moves responsively to movement of a mouse of a linked computing device. The device includes a touch screen having an input operable to receive indications of operation of a pointing device coupled to a second computing device. The touch screen is further operable to display a pointer location indicator and the pointer location indicator is operable to move responsively to movement of the pointing device.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for extending the display area of a source device (SD) to one or more target devices (TDs), are described. According to a method, information that may be displayed at the SD is transmitted to the one or more TDs. At the TDs, the information is displayed and manipulated by a user. An indication of the user's manipulations of the information is received at the SD where the information is physically updated. The SD transmits the updated information to the one or more TDs in order to synchronize the information displayed by the one or more TDs with the transmitted information.
