Abstract: A screen-printable electrode battery ink is described comprising a slurry of an active ingredient, conductive additive, a binder, and a solvent, the slurry having a solids content from about 40% by weight to about 70% by weight that is uniformly distributed in the solvent, wherein the ink has a thixotropic recovery rate from about 30 seconds to about 90 seconds, and wherein the binder has untwisted molecular chains. Methods for making the screen-printable electrode battery ink are also described. The screen-printable electrode battery inks can be used to screen print electrodes, for use in fast-charging battery. Fast-charging batteries can be incorporated into electronic devices, such as electric vehicles.

Abstract: Described herein is an all-solid-state battery comprising two or more mono cells connected in series, wherein: each mono cell comprises a lithium-based cathode, a sulfide solid electrolyte, and an anode; and adjacent mono cells are connected through a single, shared current collector in contact with a cathode and an anode of adjacent mono cells. The all-solid-state battery can be fabricated by stacking freestanding layers of the lithium-based cathode, the sulfide solid electrolyte, the anode, and the current collector in a bipolar design, and pressing the layers together to form the all-solid-state battery. The lithium-ion battery -can be incorporated into portable electronics and electric vehicles.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a double-layer ion-selective membrane, method of production, applications of the double-layer ion-selective membrane as a redox flow cell, a fuel cell, and used for wastewater and air purification. The double-layer ion-selective membrane is comprised of a polyetherimide (PEI) layer and an ultrathin layer comprising porous boron nitride (PBN) flakes enmeshed by a NAFION™ resin. The double layer membrane exhibits ion-selectivity and ion-conductivity enabling the membrane to be used in a redox flow cell battery, a fuel cell battery, and to be used in wastewater and air purification applications.
