Abstract: A sample observation apparatus includes a memory and a main controller. The main controller stores a first number of photoelectrons required in a raw image for generating a super-resolution image. The main controller calculates the number of image data sets to be added together for generating the raw image based on the first number of photoelectrons stored in the memory and a predetermined image acquisition condition, acquires multiple sets of image data of the same region of a sample by repeatedly detecting light from the same region based on the calculated number of image data sets, and generates the raw image by adding together the acquired multiple sets of image data of the same region.

Abstract: To avoid unstable light radiation during switching of a phase modulation amount and stimulate desired stimulation points simultaneously, provided is a photo-stimulator which includes an AOM switching on/off of radiation of stimulation light to a specimen S; an LCOS-SLM being capable of modulating a phase of stimulation light once radiation to the specimen S has been turned on by the AOM; and a controller controlling the LCOS-SLM to switch a phase modulation amount of stimulation light and controlling the AOM to switch on/off of radiation of stimulation light, wherein the controller causes the AOM to turn off radiation of stimulation light before the LCOS-SLM starts switching a phase modulation amount, and causes the AOM to turn on radiation of stimulation light after the LCOS-SLM completes switching a phase modulation amount.

Abstract: A microscope system includes: an microscope provided with electronic units; a display configured to display operation information; a touch panel configured to detect a position of contact of an object from outside; a setting unit configured to set areas corresponding respectively to multiple operation functions in a detection area of the touch panel; a pressure detector configured to detect a value of a pressure applied in the position of contact; and a drive controller configured to generate, based on the position of contact that is detected by the touch panel, the number of positions of contact, a change of the position of contact over time, and the value of the pressure detected by the pressure detector, an instruction signal of an instruction to change an observation status in which the specimen is observed with the electronic unit corresponding to operation function that is set by the setting unit.

Abstract: The number of stimulated spots and/or the area of a stimulated spot is easily increased or decreased while keeping the irradiation power for each stimulated spot constant. Provided is a light stimulation device (3) that includes an objective lens (23) that radiates stimulation light emitted from a stimulation laser (11) onto a specimen (S); an LCOS-SLM (17) that is located at a position conjugate to the pupil of the objective lens (23) and that can modulate the phase of stimulation light to be made to enter the objective lens (23) based on a predetermined pupil modulation pattern; an AOM (13) that adjusts the amount of stimulation light to be made to enter the LCOS-SLM (17); a mouse (26) that is used to specify the number of spots and the position of a spot of light to be radiated onto the specimen (S); and a controller main unit (28) that determines the pupil modulation pattern for the LCOS-SLM (17) according to the number of spots and the position of a spot specified by means of the mouse (26) and that controls the AOM (13) such that, when the number of spots specified by means of the mouse (26) is changed, the amount of light to be radiated onto each spot before and after the change in the number of spots becomes constant.
