Abstract:
A method of identifying iris includes: providing incident beams entering an eye locating at a reference position; setting a first, a second and a third reference point for locating the eye at the reference position; forming a first, a second and a third measuring glint by the incident beams after the eye moves from the reference position to a measuring position, and positions of the first, the second and the third measuring glint corresponding to the positions of the first, the second and the third reference point; capturing an eye image including a first, a second, a third measuring glint image and an iris image; comparing the gray scale value with a threshold gray scale value to obtain the positions of the first, the second and the third measuring glint; and calculating a first and a second variation to obtain an resolution variation of the iris image.

There is provided a displacement detection device including an image sensor, a light source, a light control unit and a processing unit. The image sensor captures image frames at a sampling frequency. The light source provides, in a speed mode, light for the image sensor in capturing the image frames. The light control unit controls the light source with the speed mode to turn on at a lighting frequency or to turn off serially. The processing unit calculates a displacement according to the image frames captured when the light source turns on to be served as an estimated displacement for an interval during which the light source turns off. There is further provided an operating method of a displacement detection device.

A pupil detection device includes an active light source, an image sensor and a processing unit. The active light source emits light toward an eyeball. The image sensor captures at least one image frame of the eyeball to be served as an image to be identified. The processing unit is configured to calculate a minimum gray value in the image to be identified and to identify a plurality of pixels surrounding the minimum gray value and having gray values within a gray value range as a pupil area.
Abstract:
A method and system provide light to project to an operation space so that a received image from the operation space will include, if an object is in the operation space, a bright region due to the reflection of light by the object, and identify a gesture according to the variation of a barycenter position, an average brightness, or an area of the bright region in successive images, for generating a corresponding command. Only simple operation and calculation is required to detect the motion of an object moving in the X, Y, or Z axis of an image, for identifying a gesture represented by the motion of the object.
Abstract:
There is provided a pupil tracking device including an active light source, an image sensor and a processing unit. The active light source emits light toward an eyeball alternatively in a first brightness value and a second brightness value. The image sensor captures a first brightness image corresponding to the first brightness value and a second brightness image corresponding to the second brightness value. The processing unit identifies a brightest region at corresponding positions of the first brightness image and the second brightness image as an active light image.
Abstract:
A gesture recognition method with improved background suppression includes the following steps. First, a plurality of images are sequentially captured. Next, a position of at least one object in each of the images is calculated to respectively obtain a moving vector of the object at different times. Then, an average brightness of the object in each of the images is calculated. Finally, magnitudes of the moving vectors of the object at different times are respectively adjusted according to the average brightness of the object in each of the images. There is further provided a gesture recognition apparatus using the method mentioned above.

Abstract:
There is provided a displacement detection device including a light source, an image sensor and a processing unit. The light source provides light to a finger with a light source parameter. The image sensor receives reflected light from the finger, outputs valid images when the light source is being turned on and outputs dark images when the light source is being turned off. The processing unit determines a contact status according to one of the dark images and one of the valid images, and calculates a displacement according to two of the valid images to accordingly adjust the light source parameter.
