Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the cleansing of nanoparticles in aqueous cationic surfactant solutions, including polyalkylammonium salts such as cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, as demonstrated by surfactant exchange, followed by the addition of peptizing agents to stabilize the cleansed nanoparticle solutes.
