    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for low latency channel access. Some aspects more specifically relate to preemption of existing transmission opportunities (TXOPs) such that devices with low latency traffic to transmit may access the communication medium to transmit low latency traffic. Short physical layer protocol data units (PPDUs) may be used within TXOPs with interframe spaces between the PPDUs such that a device with low latency traffic may transmit a preemption indication during the interframe space. A first wireless communication device may identify low latency traffic during a first PPDU of a TXOP assigned to a second wireless communication device. The first wireless communication device may transmit a preemption indication in an interframe space that indicates that a subsequent scheduled PPDU in the TXOP will be preempted in order for the first wireless communication device to transmit a PPDU to convey the low latency traffic.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing carrier frequencies for wireless communications in wireless local area networks (WLANs). Some implementations more specifically relate to BSS discovery and association techniques that support wireless communications on carrier frequencies above 7 GHz. In some aspects, an access point (AP) may communicate using beamforming on a wireless communication link operating at a carrier frequency above 7 GHZ (the “directional link”) while offloading the BSS discovery and association procedures needed to support such communications onto a wireless communication link operating at a carrier frequency below 7 GHZ (the “anchor link”). In some implementations, the AP may perform a beamforming training operation with a STA over the directional link upon associating with the STA over the anchor link. In such implementations, the AP may communicate with the STA over the directional link using a beam derived from the beamforming training operation.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing the transmit power of wireless communication devices operating on power spectral density (PSD)-limited wireless channels. Some implementations more specifically relate to LTF designs that support distributed transmissions. In some aspects, a transmitting device may obtain a sequence of values representing an LTF of a PPDU and may map the sequence of values to a number (N) of noncontiguous subcarrier indices of a plurality of subcarrier indices spanning a wireless channel according to a distributed tone plan. In some implementations, the transmitting device may modulate the sequence of values on N tones, representing a logical RU, and map the N tones to the N noncontiguous subcarrier indices, respectively. In some other implementations, the sequence of values may be obtained based on relative locations of the N noncontiguous subcarrier indices in the wireless channel.

In some aspects, a wireless communication device may map a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) to orthogonal subcarriers according to existing tone plans associated with carrier frequencies below 7 GHz and may up-clock the PPDU for transmission on carrier frequencies above 7 GHz (such as by increasing the frequency of a clock signal used to convert the PPDU between the frequency domain and the time domain). In some implementations, the PPDU may conform to an existing PPDU format designed for sub-7 GHz wireless communications. In some other implementations, the PPDU may conform to a “green field” PPDU format optimized for wireless communications on carrier frequencies above 7 GHz.

In one aspect, a device receives a distributed resource unit (dRU) assignment for transmission of a dRU portion of a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU); determines a spatial stream global cyclic shift delay (CSD) index for an short training field (STF) of the dRU portion of the PPDU; and transmits, based on the spatial stream global CSD index, the EHT of the dRU portion of the PPDU across a dRU spreading bandwidth associated with the dRU assignment using a tone plan and sequence corresponding to a regular resource unit (rRU) transmission mode.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for wireless communication that can be used to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of data transmissions by increasing the degree of randomness with which data is scrambled for transmission over a wireless medium. In some implementations, a transmitting device may determine a scrambler seed value that includes at least 11 bits, where at least one of the 7 least significant bits (LSBs) of the scrambler seed value has a non-zero value. The transmitting device may generate a scrambling sequence based on the scrambler seed value and a polynomial, may construct a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) that includes a multi-user (MU) request-to-send (RTS) frame and the scrambler seed value, may scramble one or more portions of the PPDU based on the scrambling sequence; and may transmit the PPDU over a wireless medium.
