Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing a catalyst composition comprising an unsupported catalyst comprising ZrV2O7, comprising: mixing ammonium meta-vanadate and zirconyl nitrate, drying the mixture and calcining the dried mixture at a temperature range of 600-900° C. for 2-10 hours to obtain the unsupported catalyst, and mixing the unsupported catalyst with Al2O3 without heating.
