Abstract: Heat-curing epoxy resin compositions are characterized by high impact strength, good storage stability, and a low curing temperature. The epoxy resin compositions are suitable for use as a construction shell adhesive and for producing structural foams. They can already be cured in so-called bottom-baking conditions. Furthermore, it has been found that the use of an accelerator of the formula (Ia) or (Ib) results in an increase of the impact strength of heat-curing epoxy resin compositions.

Abstract: A polyaldimine of the formula (I) with advantageous properties in use as latent hardener for compositions including isocyanate groups, and compositions containing the polyaldimine of the formula (I) and at least one polyisocyanate and/or at least one polyurethane polymer containing isocyanate groups. The polyaldimine of the formula (I) is odourless, pH-neutral, liquid at room temperature, has low viscosity, has little sensitivity to heat and moisture, and is stable in storage together with isocyanates. It can provide odourless single-component polyurethane compositions which have good stability in storage and which do not produce bubbles when hardened in the presence of moisture, and which cause no problematic odour emissions, giving a hardened elastic material with good mechanical properties and surprisingly little tendency towards plasticizer migration.

Abstract: A polymer preparation consisting of silane-functional polymers, including at least one polymer having at least one terminal group of formula (I) and at least one further silane terminal group, a method for producing the polymer preparation and a composition containing it. The polymer preparation has a surprisingly low viscosity, cross-links surprisingly quickly even without the use of EHS-critical catalysts such as organotin compounds or DBU, and hardens into a non-sticky material with good strength and elasticity. It is especially well suited as an elastic adhesive or sealant or as an elastic coating. The invention further relates to a method for lowering the viscosity of a polymer having at least one terminal group of formula (I) by introducing at least one further silane terminal group.

Abstract: An amine of the formula (I) for use as hardener for epoxy resins, hardeners for epoxy resins containing the amine of the formula (I) and resultant epoxy resin compositions which more particularly can be used as low-emission room-temperature-curing epoxy-resin coatings with high hardness and surface quality. Abstract: A process of manufacturing an aldimine preparation, characterized in that at least one aldimine of the formula (I), at least one isocyanate of the formula (II), optionally at least one alcohol of the formula (III) and water are reacted until at least 95% of all the initially present isocyanate groups are converted, whereby the initial molar ratio of aldimine groups to [isocyanate groups minus hydroxyl groups of the alcohol of formula (III)] in the reaction mixture is in the range of 2/1 to 10/1. The obtained aldimine preparation is particularly suitable for the use as latent hardener for moisture-curing polyurethane compositions. It enables moisture-curing polyurethane compositions with a very low content of diisocyanate monomers, which cure to an elastic material of surprisingly high strength, e-modulus and low surface tack.

Abstract: An amino-functional addition product from the reaction of at least one diamine of the formula (I) with at least one aromatic diepoxide in a stoichiometric ratio in the range of 1.3 to 1.7 mole diamine per 1 mole-equivalent of epoxy groups. The addition product is liquid at room temperature without a diluent and has surprisingly low viscosity. The composition allows the manufacture of low-emission epoxy-resin coatings that have good workability, cure particularly rapidly and with high surface quality in cold and damp conditions, and allow for a wide range of combinations with other amines and diluents.

Abstract: Curable compositions include at least one organic polymer which contains silane groups and/or isocyanate groups, at least one compound which contains acetal groups and has a molecular weight of at least 280 g/mol, and at least one basic catalyst. The composition is particularly storage-stable and can be readily processed. Using moisture the composition cures rapidly, and with very little residual tackiness, to form a resilient material that has good adhesive and mechanical properties, in particular a high level of malleability and elasticity, is heat resistant and exhibits hardly any odour formation or migration effects. In particular, the composition has very consistent product properties during storage in respect of viscosity, curing rate and odour.

Abstract: An aldiminosilane of the formula (I), to the use thereof as adhesion promoters and/or crosslinking agents, and to curable compositions including same. The aldiminosilane of the formula (I) is odorless, pH-neutral, liquid at room temperature, and has a low sensitivity to heat. The hydrolysis of the aldiminosilane proceeds relatively slowly, and the aldiminosilane is highly effective as an adhesion promoter. Furthermore, the aldiminosilane exhibits excellent compatibility with curable compositions based on isocyanates, epoxides, or silanes, whereby such compositions do not exhibit a propensity for migration effects such as bleeding or substrate soiling after being cured. In particular, isocyanate group-containing compositions containing the aldiminosilane of the formula (I) are highly storage-stable regardless of the storage temperature and the isocyanate used.
