A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF OXIDATION CATALYST BASED ON OXIDES OF ANTIMONY AND OF A SECOND METAL SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING IRON, URANIUM, TIN, CERIUM, MANGANESE AND THORIUM SAID PROCESS COMPRISING (I) PROVIDING A POWDERED CATALYTIC MASS BY HEATING COMPOUNDS OF THE SAID METALS WHICH ARE THERMALLY DECOMPOSABLE TO THE METAL OXIDES, (II) DRYING THE FINELY POWDERED CATALYTIC MASS, (II) ADDING A COMPOUND, VOLATILE AT TEMPERATURE LOWER THAN THE CATALYST ACTIVATION TEMPERATURE, AND SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF AMMONIUM CARBONATE, AMMONIUM BICARBONATE UREA, HEMAMETHYLENETETRAMINE AND OXALIC ACID, (IV) MOLDING THE CATALYST PREPARATION TO SHAPE, (V) HEATING THE SHAPED CATALYST UNTIL SAID VOLATILE COMPOUND IS COMPLETELY ELIMINATED AND (VI) THEN CALCINING TO OBTAIN THE OXIDES OF THE SAID METALS.
Abstract:
A PROCESS IS DISCLOSED FOR DISPROPORTIONATING AN OLEFIN HAVING FROM 3 TO 30 CARBON ATOMS, WHEREIN THE OLEFIN IS CONTACTED WITH A CATALYST CONSISTING ESSENTIALLY OF AN OXIDE OF TUNGSTEN AND COPPER OR OF TUNGSTEN AND A METAL OF THE 8TH GROUP OF THE PERIODIC SYSTEM, PREFERABLY IRON, COBALT OR BICKEL, IN WHICH THE RATIO OF METAL TO TUNGSTEN IS IN THE RANGE OF 1:3 TO 5:1. THE CATALYST IS ADVANTAGEOUSLY SUPPORTED BY A CARRIER SUCH AS SILICA AND ITS CONTACT WITH THE OLEFIN IS EFFECTED AT A TEMPERATURE IN THE RANGE OF 400 TO 700*C, AT A PRESSURE IN THE RANGE OF 1 TO 50 ATMOSPHERES AND FOR A CONTACT TIME IN THE RANGE OF 0.1 TO 60 SECONDS.
