Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing including a recess; an internal structure disposed in the recess; and a display disposed in the recess and supported by the internal structure, where the display includes a display panel including a first region and a second region, where the second region forms at least part of an edge of the display panel; and a flexible polymer layer forming an outer surface of the display panel, where the flexible polymer layer includes a first portion covering the first region and the second region, and a second portion extending from the first portion, enclosing the at least part of the edge of the display panel, and extending inward. Thereby, foreign material can be prevented from entering into the display. Various other embodiments are possible.

Abstract: According to an embodiment of the disclosure, disclosed is an electronic device that includes a first connector electrically connectable to an external electronic device, a second connector electrically connectable to an external audio plug, a wireless communication circuit, and at least one processor. When the electronic device is connected to the external electronic device through the first connector, the at least one processor may receive a first digital audio signal from the external electronic device through the first connector, convert the received first digital audio signal into a first analog audio signal, and output the converted first analog audio signal through the second connector. When the electronic device is connected to the external electronic device through the wireless communication circuit, the at least one processor may receive a second digital audio signal from the external electronic device through the wireless communication circuit, convert the received second digital audio signal into a second analog audio signal having a sound quality lower than that of the first analog audio signal, and output the converted second analog audio signal through the second connector.

A processor implements the method including detecting movement of the housings such that a visible display area of the display is changed, detecting whether the resizing meets a predetermined condition, and if resizing does not meet the predetermined condition, executing image processing on a portion of the resized visible display area.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a flexible touchscreen layer movable between an open state and a closed state and having a periphery located at a first distance from a first sidewall in the closed state, and located at a second distance longer than the first distance from the first sidewall in the open state. When the flexible touchscreen layer is moved from the open state to the closed state, at least part of the bendable portion may be led out from a recess to construct substantially a plane. When the flexible touchscreen layer is moved from the closed state to the open state, at least part of the bendable portion may be led into the recess to expose at least one of an inner structure having various modules disposed thereon or electronic component for access and/or use.

Abstract: An electronic device may include an assembly that enables varying a visible portion of a display by extending and retracting a bendable portion of the display. The extending and retracting of the bendable display is facilitated by a first assembly on which a substantially planar visible portion of the display is disposed and a second assembly slidably attached to the first assembly. A space is defined by the first and second assemblies in which a bent portion of the display is housed. When the first assembly is extended (e.g., opened) with respect to the second assembly, at least a portion of the bent portion of the display is extended so as to be visible, and when the first assembly is closed (e.g., retracted) with respect to the second assembly, the extended bent portion of the display is retracted into the space between the first assembly and the second assembly, and is no longer visible. Various constructions of the first and second assemblies and corresponding structures are provided.

Abstract: A method of controlling the output according to a type of connector and an electronic device adapted to the method are provided. The method includes determining whether a first, second and third external connector is inserted into a receptacle, via a circuit connected to the receptacle, wherein the receptacle is configured to receive the first, second or third external connector, each of the first and second connector includes a first number of contacts, and the third external connector includes a second number of contacts less than the first number of contacts; providing an audio output signal to the first external connector in a first manner when the first external connector is inserted into the receptacle; providing an audio output signal to the second external connector in a second manner which differs from the first manner when the second external connector is inserted into the receptacle; and providing an audio output signal to the third external connector in a third manner which differs from the first and second manners when the third external connector is inserted into the receptacle.
