Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system, particularly a microscope system, for confocal Raman-spectroscopic measurements. The system is configured to detect minute sample amounts of microbes in a sample chamber with a lid, wherein the system is configured such that a comparably large working distance between the objective lens and the sample is sustained such that a measurement can be performed through the lid of the sample chamber. This allows for cultivating and measuring the sample in the same container.

Abstract: The invention relates to a liquid cell (1) for the microscopic image capture and Raman spectroscopic material analysis of a particle suspension in a reflected light microscope, having at least the following components: a measuring chamber (2) which has a base (3), a measuring window (5) opposite the base (3), and a seal (6), wherein the base (3) has a planar design at least in one region of the support of the seal (6), and the base (3) has a reflective surface (4) which is provided such that Raman excitation light incident through the measuring window (5) is reflected on the reflective surface (4) in a directed manner such that the background signal in a Raman measurement is reduced and the Raman signal of a particle in a suspension is increased. The invention further relates to a microscope which has such a liquid cell.
