A messaging service allows message senders to reach a web site owner in the way the owner wants. Users authorized by the owner drop a message into the message service of a site owner, and it gets delivered to the site owner in exactly the manner specified by the site owner. The site owner can organize incoming messages by time, calendar, user, viewing method, etc. The site owner can receive messages in the way she wants, but all her friends need to know is one address, the owner's site address.

A web-based system allows for publishing a website with features and access configured on a user-by-user basis by the website owner to present personal data as well as social network feeds in a single interface. The website owner can update and manage his/her social media from the same page, as well as organize private data if desired. The system includes a messaging function, in accordance with which users can drop a message into the message service of a site owner, and it gets delivered to the site owner in exactly the manner specified by the site owner.

A system for providing location-based streaming media to a user has a provider computer and at least one database accessible by the provider computer containing media content, the media content being associated with at least one location. A user hardware device is coupled to the provider computer over a network. The user hardware device communicates a location of the user hardware device to the provider computer. The provider computer to produces a list of media content corresponding to the location of the user hardware device and transmits the list to the user hardware device. The user hardware device communicates a media content selection to the provider computer and the provider computer streams the media content to the user hardware device based on the media content selection.

A sailboat race tracking system includes a race computer and a sailboat computing device authenticated to the race computer. The sailboat computing device transmits position data as a function of time to the race computer. An event organizer computing device sets a race start time and transmits the race start time to the race computer. The race computer receives the position data as a function of time from multiple sailboat computing devices and syncs it according to the race start time. The race computer transmits the time-synced position data of the sailboat computing devices to the sailboat computing devices and spectator computing devices for display.

The system includes a central computer, a client computer, a communications link between the central computer and the Internet, and a communications link between the client computer and the Internet. The system also includes at least one database containing a plurality of data records accessible by the central computer, each data record containing a client identification number. Software executing on the central computer receives a data backup request, and software executing on the central computer transmits the data backup to the client computer.
