Abstract: An air purifier is disclosed. The air purifier according to an aspect of the present invention may include a housing that forms an external shape and has a housing space therein that communicates with the outside; and an air purification unit that is coupled to the housing, comprises a fan member that provides a conveying force to allow external air to be introduced into the housing space of the housing, and a filter member that filters external air introduced into the housing space, and purifies the external air introduced into the housing space and then discharges it to the outside, wherein the housing includes a clean inlet part partially surrounding the housing space, formed through one or more surfaces of the housing, and communicating the housing space and the outside; and a dust inlet part partially surrounding the housing space, formed through one or more surfaces of the housing, and communicating the housing space and the outside at a position different from the clean inlet part, wherein the clean inlet part is configured to be open or closed, and when the clean inlet part is closed, the speed of external air introduced into the dust inlet part is increased by the fan member.

Abstract: In general, the present disclosure is directed to a hand-held surface cleaning device that includes a relatively compact form-factor to allow users to store the same in a nearby location (e.g., in a drawer, in an associated charging dock, on a table top) for easy access to perform relatively small cleaning tasks that would otherwise require retrieving a full-size vacuum from storage. A hand-held surface cleaning device consistent with aspects of the present disclosure includes a body (or body portion) with a motor, power source and dust cup disposed therein. The body portion also functions as a handgrip to allow the hand-held surface cleaning device to be operated by one hand, for example.

Abstract: An autonomous coverage robot includes a chassis, a drive system configured to maneuver the robot, and a cleaning assembly. The cleaning assembly includes a cleaning assembly housing and at least one driven sweeper brush. The robot includes a controller and a removable sweeper bin configured to receive debris agitated by the driven sweeper brush. The sweeper bin includes an emitter disposed on an interior surface of the bin and a receiver disposed remotely from the emitter on the interior surface of the bin and configured to receive an emitter signal. The emitter and the receiver are disposed such that a threshold level of accumulation of debris in the sweeper bin blocks the receiver from receiving emitter emissions. The robot includes a bin controller disposed in the sweeper bin and monitoring a detector signal and initiating a bin full routine upon determining a bin debris accumulation level requiring service.

Also disclosed are systems for emitting avoidance signals to prevent inadvertent contact between the robot and the base station, and systems for emitting homing signals to allow the robotic device to accurately dock with the base station.
