Abstract:
Granular polysilicon is produced in a fluidized-bed reactor by fluidizing silicon particles by means of a gas flow in a fluidized bed heated to a temperature of 850-1100° C., adding a silicon-containing reaction gas by means of a nozzle and depositing of silicon on the silicon particles, wherein, in at least 56% of an axially symmetric region around a nozzle opening of the nozzle, the reaction gas concentration is greater than 75% of the maximum concentration of the reaction gas (10 to 50 mol %), the fluidized-bed temperature is greater than 95% of the fluidized-bed temperature outside the axially symmetric region (850-1100° C.) and the solids concentration is greater than 85% of the solids concentration at the edge of the fluidized bed (55 to 90% by volume).

Systems and methods conducive to the formation of one or more alkene hydrocarbons using a methane source and an oxidant in an oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) reaction are provided. One or more vessels each containing one or more catalyst beds containing one or more catalysts each having similar or differing chemical composition or physical form may be used. The one or more catalyst beds may be operated under a variety of conditions. At least a portion of the catalyst beds may be operated under substantially adiabatic conditions. At least a portion of the catalyst beds may be operated under substantially isothermal conditions.
Abstract:
A process for operating a fuel fired reactor includes introducing fuel into the reactor and burning the fuel in the reactor by means of at least one main burner. Relevant parameters of the process are monitored. Within a predetermined critical operating range for an enforced shut down, a secondary, more stringent operating range is implemented as shut down criteria. The main burner is shut down upon one or more of the relevant parameters leaving the secondary operating range while at least one pilot burner continues to operate as long as the relevant parameters are maintained within the critical operating range.

Abstract:
The present invention pertains to the technical field of energy resource chemical industry, and in particular relates to a continuous reaction device and process for synthesizing polyoxymethylene dimethyl ethers by using paraformaldehyde and methylal as feedstock or using trioxane and methylal as feedstock in the presence of an acidic catalyst. The continuous reaction device comprises multiple slurry bed stirred tank reactors connected in series or in combination of series connection and parallel connection, and also comprises an on-line solid-liquid separation device to perform separation of the reaction mixture from the catalyst. Each of the tank reactors is provided with an axial-flow stirring paddle having 2-6 blades per layer, to ensure sufficient mixing of the reactants with the catalyst. By using a distributed control pattern of reaction temperature and feedstock supplying to enhance the process and to optimize the operation, the reaction device of the present invention can effectively achieve large-scale continuous production of polyoxymethylene dimethyl ethers, and both the yield rates and the distribution of the reaction product are better than those of prior art.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a continuous process for pretreatment of an oil feedstock comprising at most 20% by weight of free fatty acids by esterification of free fatty acids in which a vertical liquid/liquid contactor containing an esterification catalyst in solid form is supplied in counter-current by an alcohol feedstock comprising at least 20% by weight of an alcohol and said oil feedstock, with said contactor being operated at a temperature of between 25 and 120° C., with said contactor performing the contact in liquid-liquid counter-current between a heavy phase and a light phase, with said heavy phase being able to be either an oil-rich phase or an alcohol-rich phase.
Abstract:
In the operation of an oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) process, it is desirable to remove oxygen in the product stream for a number of reasons, including to reduce oxidation of the product. This may be achieved by having several pre-reactors upstream of the main reactor having a catalyst system containing labile oxygen. The feed passes through one or more reactors saturated with labile oxygen. When the labile oxygen is consumed through a valve system, the pre-reactor accepts product from the main reactor and complexes reactive oxygen in the product stream until the catalyst system is saturated with labile oxygen. Then the reactor becomes a pre-reactor and another pre-reactor becomes a scavenger.
Abstract:
A hydrogen generation apparatus including: a first desulfurizer; a second desulfurizer; a reformer to generate a hydrogen-containing reformed gas from a raw material gas from which sulfur has been removed by at least one of the first desulfurizer and the second desulfurizer; and a recycle passage through which a part of the reformed gas generated by the reformer is mixed into the raw material gas to be supplied to the second desulfurizer. After installation or maintenance of the hydrogen generation apparatus, the raw material gas is supplied to the reformer through the first desulfurizer until a catalyst in the second desulfurizer is activated by a mixed gas of the reformed gas supplied through the recycle passage and the raw material gas, and after the catalyst in the second desulfurizer is activated, the raw material gas is supplied to the reformer through the second desulfurizer.
