Abstract:
A pump dispenser is arranged for dispensing solidous material under a manually-developed pressure, with the dispenser being capable of pumping and mechanically agitating the solidous material in a storage container. The resultant dispensed solidous fluid is provided with more consistent suspended solid concentrations with greater solid particle distribution homogeneity.
Abstract:
A dispenser for discharging an in particular granular or powdery substance by blow-out, has a blow-out duct, and a suction line opening into the blow-out duct for sucking the substance into the blow-out duct. A positive air pressure can be built up in a duct section arranged upstream of the blow-out duct and closed in the direction of the blow-out duct by a valve opening in a pressure-dependent manner, for pressure-controlled formation of a blow-out stream in the blow-out duct. A method for emptying a substance reservoir having a freeze-dried substance sucks the substance out of the substance reservoir, using a suction air stream opening into a blowing stream, and discharges the substance. A sucking/blowing dispenser is used for emptying a substance reservoir having a freeze-dried substance.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a powder delivery device, comprising a housing ; a plunger contained in the housing; and a dispenser component attached to an end of the housing and comprising a reservoir containing powder material; a gating component comprising a first gate having a closed end and an open end, and a second gate; a metering area between the first gate and the second gate; and one or more orifices; the gating component having a first position wherein the second gate is closed and the open end of the first gate permits the powder material to enter the metering area from the reservoir; and a second position wherein the second gate is open and the closed end of the first gate permits the powder material in the metering area to enter the housing and exit the device through the orifices. The device of the present invention can accurately dispense preselected volumes of powdered materials, such as clotting agents for wound treatment.

Abstract:
A multi-dose insufflator for the nasal administration of medicaments in fine or micronized powder form comprises a reservoir unit (34), a unit (60, 64) for withdrawing and metering the medicament contained in the reservoir unit, and an insufflation unit (42, 26) comprising a manually operated pump (42) for generating an air stream within a channel (26) for conveying an individual dose of medicament into the nasal cavity of the patient. The withdrawal and metering unit comprises a conveyor device (60) provided with at least one cup (64) for withdrawing a dose of medicament from the reservoir (34) and conveying it into an insufflation position. The cup (64) has a coaxial base hole (66) through which the air stream generated by the pump passes when the cup is in the insufflation position. The hole (66) has a size substantially smaller than the mouth of the cup (64) and such as to prevent the powder medicament falling through the hole, by virtue of the "arching" effect.
Abstract:
Compositions adapted for use as a hair densifying agent are presented, as well as embodiments of a dispenser for dispensing the composition. A hair densifying system includes a dispenser adapted for dispensing a hair densifying agent with a hair densifying agent disposed therein, the system is substantially as described. The compositions can also be used to modify the color balance in a user's hair.

Abstract:
A device for projecting measured quantities of a fluid substance by a puff of compressed air, said device comprising: a body (1) having an ejection channel (4); an actuator member (2) displaceable relative to the body (1) between a rest position and an actuated position; a resilient return member (19) urging the actuator member (2) towards its rest position; a supply (3) of said substance; a feed (5, 6) adapted to move a measured quantity of said substance from the supply (3) into the ejection channel (4); and an air pump (7) comprising a pump chamber (8) having an inlet valve (10, 11) in communication with the atmosphere; the device being characterized in that the outlet valve is constituted by a valve piston (12) constrained to be displaced with the actuator member (2) and sliding in sealed manner in a valve cylinder (13) having a top end (13a), said cylinder having a lateral outlet orifice (14) which communicates with the ejection channel (4), said valve cylinder having its top end (13a) in communication with the pump chamber (8), said lateral outlet orifice being positioned sufficiently far from said top end (13a) of the valve cylinder for the valve piston (12) to isolate the lateral outlet orifice (14) from the pump chamber so long as the actuator member (2) is not in the immediate vicinity of its actuated position.
