Abstract:
The disclosed tissue products have an embossing pattern that is aesthetically pleasing and provides improved product properties, such as good bulk, while reducing processing issues, such as wrinkling. The embossing patterns generally comprise a background and a foreground pattern where the background pattern is the dominate pattern and provides the product with a uniform appearance that connotes femininity, softness and cleansing. The background pattern is preferably formed entirely from open design elements such as first, second and third open, curvilinear line elements, wherein the second and third line elements are discrete, similarly shaped curvilinear line elements that are arranged parallel to one another and spaced apart about 1.0 mm or less.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates an apparatus and method for assembling at least two webs of tissue paper with or without marking of the webs. The apparatus and method utilize a multi-marrying roller configuration, which allows for assembling of the at least two webs of tissue paper by passing between the marrying roller and the second marrying roller. The apparatus and method make it possible to produce a conventional embossed product, or a smooth product without marking, having combined plies. In addition, the apparatus and method make it possible to easily move from one production mode to the other.

Abstract:
A sheet of absorbent paper includes at least one first and one second embossed plies of tissue having protuberances on the inward-facing side of the sheet corresponding to cavities on the outer side, with a first type of protuberances on the first ply, the first type of protuberances on the second ply, at least some of the first type of protuberances of the first ply contacting at least some of the first type of protuberances of the second ply, the first ply and the second ply include a second type of protuberances of frustoconical form, the first type of protuberances being partly adjacent to the second type of protuberances, the first type of protuberances of the first ply are aligned in a first direction and the first type of protuberances of the second ply are aligned in a second direction, the two directions forming a non-zero angle alpha between them.
Abstract:
An embossing roll for producing fibrous products especially tissue paper products, non-woven products or a hybrid thereof, and preferably hygiene and cleaning products, with an embossing surface is suitable to run against an anvil roll, the embossing surface includes protrusions starting from a base circumferential surface of the embossing roll; the embossing protrusions form a pattern with a base surface area of at least 3 cm×3 cm; within each pattern there is a high number of embossing protrusions which are sized and/or positioned such as to represent a rastered motive element covering the base surface area; at least some of the embossing protrusions are dimensioned and/or positioned such that consecutive minimum distances between opposed side surfaces of pairs of embossing protrusions arranged in sequence vary gradually. A device employing the embossing roll and a method for arranging embossing protrusions on a circumferential surface of the embossing roll are described.
Abstract:
An embossing roll for producing fibrous products, has a structurized embossing surface suitable to run against an anvil roll. The structurized embossing surface includes male protrusions or female depressions starting from a base circumferential surface of the roll. The embossing pattern is characterized by the following features: the base areas of selected male protrusions or female depressions in the base circumferential surface are different; the heights or depths of selected male protrusions or selected female depressions in a radial direction of the roll and starting from the base circumferential surface are different; and the angles between sidewall sections and the adjacent base circumferential surface of selected male protrusions and/or female depressions are different.
Abstract:
The embossing unit includes in combination: a first support for a first embossing roller and a second support for a first pressure roller, cooperating with the first embossing roller. The second support presents two seats to receive and support the first pressure roller in two different positions with respect to this support. The embossing unit also includes a third support for a second embossing roller. The third support can take at least two different operating positions. A fourth support is provided to support a second pressure roller suitable to cooperate with the second embossing roller and suitable to take at least an operating position and an idle position. Finally, there is provided a fifth support with a double seat to receive and support in two different positions alternatively a marrying roll or the second pressure roller.
Abstract:
The rotating cylinder comprises: an elongated inner core (12) which is substantially rigid and an interchangeable sleeve (45) which is fitted onto the core; the sleeve is axially and angularly constrained to said core and is provided on its external surface with a raised pattern. The internal surface of the interchangeable sleeve and the external surface of the inner core are conical surfaces which are mutually complementary; axial and angular locking of the interchangeable sleeve and the inner core is achieved by the friction between the conical surfaces which are forced axially one onto the other.
Abstract:
The object of the present invention is an absorbent paper product including at least three plies, and a method of manufacture therefore. The absorbent paper product is of an approximate specific surface weight between 36 and 105 g/m2, and includes at least three plies, namely a central ply and two embossed upper and lower outer plies each including salient patterns composed of at least in part discrete protrusions. The plies are joined by joining at least part of the protrusions of each of the outer plies to the central ply. At least one of the outer plies has a pattern density larger than 30 protrusions/cm2. The embossed lower outer ply (2) includes combined high and low patterns (5 and 7) of respective heights (H) and (h). The central ply (4) and the embossed upper outer ply (3) are joined in the nested mode to the embossed lower outer ply (2) at the level of at least part of the tops of the high pattern (5) of height (H) of the embossed lower outer ply (2).

Abstract:
A process for autogeneously bonding two cellulosic laminae to form a multi-lamina substrate by high pressure lamination. The attachment occurs at selective bond sites wetted with a functional fluid such as water prior to bonding. The process is applicable to multi-lamina substrates formed from laminae treated with chemical softening agents.
