Abstract: The invention relates to a device for producing methane gas including a chamber, means for conveying the product in the chamber which comprise a screw mounted to turn in the chamber along a geometric axis of rotation, Joule-effect heating means of the screw, a removal unit for removing impurities present in the gas coming from the thermal treatment of the product, said unit being connected to a high outlet of the chamber, and a purification system for purifying the gas at the outlet of the removal unit.

Abstract: Break down of waste materials such as animal parts is carried out by pyrolysis, gasification and combustion using a reactor vessel with a conical lower portion located within an exterior vessel. Feed material is deposited in continuous mode through an air lock at the top and falls by gravity alone into the lower cone portion. The cone geometry supports organic feedstocks, eliminating the requirement for grates or other combustion support systems. Organic material that may escape gasification and exit the bottom of the cone accumulates within the ash and carbon particle volume until burned. Carbon is sequestered from high energy feedstocks and is stored in a chamber below the gasification cone. This carbon supplements the energy output of lower energy feedstocks to maintain desired operating temperatures at all times.

Abstract: A method for the destruction of contaminated waste material comprising the steps of sufficiently heating the waste material in an oxygen deficient atmosphere to pyrolyze the material thereby producing a volatile fuel gas stream and a decontaminated solid residue, separately removing the fuel gas stream and the decontaminated solid residue, adjusting the stoichiometric ratio of the fuel gas stream reactant components for combustion downstream, oxidatively combusting the adjusted fuel gas stream to produce a low velocity, low oxygen gas stream, and a high velocity, low oxygen carrier gas stream, recycling at least a portion of the high velocity, low oxygen carrier gas stream for direct contact with the waste material to provide heat for pyrolysis of the same, contacting at least a portion of the low velocity, low oxygen carrier gas stream with water to produce an oxygen rich, substantially inert, heat exchange gas stream and indirectly heating the contaminated material with the heat exchange gas stream to provide supplemental heat.

Abstract: A gravity-fed housing for use in a gasification system is disclosed. The gravity-fed housing has a receiving end panel that forms a receive opening in a first plane. The receive opening is configured to receive a first plurality of heat carriers via gravity. The gravity-fed housing includes a siding connected to the receiving end panel. The siding forms a chamber and a discharge opening in a second plane that is parallel to the first plane. The discharge opening is offset with respect to the receive opening such that a line perpendicular to the receiving end panel that extends through a center point of the receive opening does not intersect a center point of the second opening. The siding includes a first panel that comprises a guiding surface that intersects the line and is angled toward the discharge opening.
