Abstract: According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal device includes a first liquid crystal cell and a second liquid crystal cell. The first liquid crystal cell and the second liquid crystal cell each include a first strip electrode, a second strip electrode, a third strip electrode and a fourth strip electrode. The extension direction of each of the first strip electrode and the second strip electrode in the first liquid crystal cell is different from the extension direction of each of the first strip electrode and the second strip electrode in the second liquid crystal cell. The extension direction of each of the first strip electrode and the second strip electrode is orthogonal to the extension direction of each of the third strip electrode and the fourth strip electrode.

Abstract: According to an aspect, a liquid-crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid-crystal layer. The first substrate includes a first electrode and a second electrode, and one of the first electrode and the second electrode is a pixel electrode provide, the first electrode includes an electrode base portion extending in a first direction and comb tooth portions extending in a second direction and protruding in a comb teeth shape from the electrode base portion with a predetermined distance interposed therebetween, and adjacent comb tooth portions include adjacent comb tooth portions having a relation in which a first long side of one comb tooth portion closest to a boundary between pixels is not parallel to a first long side of the other comb tooth portion.

Abstract: A driver circuit includes first to third transistors, a first circuit, and a second circuit. In the first transistor, a first terminal is electrically connected to a second wiring, a second terminal is electrically connected to a first wiring, and a gate is electrically connected to the second circuit and a first terminal of the third transistor. In the second transistor, a first terminal is electrically connected to the first wiring, a second terminal is electrically connected to a sixth wiring, a gate is electrically connected to the first circuit and a gate of the third transistor. A second terminal of the third transistor is electrically connected to the sixth wiring. The first circuit is electrically connected to a third wiring, a fourth wiring, a fifth wiring, and the sixth wiring. The second circuit is electrically connected to the first wiring, the second wiring, and the sixth wiring.

Abstract: A holographic display is comprised of space-multiplexed elemental modulators, each of which consists of a surface acoustic wave transducer atop an anisotropic waveguide. Each “line” of the overall display consists of a single anisotropic waveguide across the display's length with multiple surface acoustic wave transducers spaced along the waveguide length, although for larger displays, the waveguide may be divided into segments, each provided with separate illumination. Light that is undiffracted by a specific transducer is available for diffraction by subsequent transducers. Per transducer, guided-mode light is mode-converted to leaky-mode light, which propagates into the substrate away from the viewer before encountering a volume reflection grating and being reflected and steered towards the viewer. The display is transparent and all reflection volume gratings operate in the Bragg regime, thereby creating no dispersion of ambient light.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate with a first alignment film, a second substrate with a second alignment film, and a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween. The first substrate has first and second electrodes. An initial alignment direction of liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer is parallel to a first direction or a direction orthogonal to the first direction. The second electrode includes comblike electrodes extending parallel to the first direction and a connecting portion which connects the comblike electrodes. The connecting portion includes a projection which projects in a second direction more than an outermost comblike electrode.

Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device having a touch sensor and a method of driving the same, which relates to the technical field of liquid crystal display. The liquid crystal display device having a touch sensor is provided to solve the problem that a penetration rate of a display device in the prior art is decreased significantly. A touch control function is added in a pixel of the liquid crystal display device and the touch control function is achieved through a touch lead. Common electrodes covering data lines between blue sub-pixels and red sub-pixels of two adjacent pixel units are set as touch leads. The touch leads serve as touch lines during a touch scanning stage and serve as the common electrodes during a non-touch scanning stage. Moreover, the present disclosure is mainly applied to a liquid crystal flat display panel.

Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device with reduced power consumption as well as reduced flicker. The liquid crystal display device is one in a transverse electric field mode, including: paired substrates; a photo-alignment film disposed on at least one of the substrates; a horizontal alignment liquid crystal layer disposed between the substrates; and pixels arranged in a matrix form, the liquid crystal layer containing liquid crystal molecules with a bicyclohexyl skeleton and liquid crystal molecules with a difluorobenzene skeleton, the liquid crystal layer having negative anisotropy of dielectric constant, one of the substrates including TFTs disposed in the respective pixels, the TFTs each including a semiconductor layer that contains an oxide semiconductor, the liquid crystal display device having a frame rate of lower than 50 Hz.
