Abstract: A composition containing AROS(active regulator of sirt1) proteins or genes thereof is provided to treat or prevent diabetes, obesity, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases or aging-related diseases by regulating SIRT1 activity. A composition for regulating SIRT1 activity comprises AROS(ACTIVE REGULATOR OF SIRT1) proteins or genes coding the AROS proteins as active ingredients. The composition for regulating SIRT1 activity includes AROS protein antibody, AROS SiRNA, AROS antisense DNA or cell strain containing the DNA thereof. The AROS proteins or the genes coding the AROS proteins are administered to mammal to prevent and treat diabetes, obesity, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases or aging-related diseases.
