    Abstract: PURPOSE: A portable digital short circuit detector is provided to confirm a leakage current without blocking electricity for measurement. CONSTITUTION: A portable digital short circuit detector includes a first socket connector (110), an electric leakage measuring unit (130), and a central controller (140). The first socket connector is connected to an electric socket. The electric leakage measuring unit measures currents flowing through the first socket connector. The central controller calculates an average current by excluding a maximum value and a minimum value from the currents measured for a predetermined time. The central controller determines that there is not electric leakage when the average current corresponds to a predetermined normal range. If the average current does not correspond to the range, the generation of the electric leakage is determined.
