Abstract: Dye mixtures, containing dyes of the formula I I where X is hydrogen, chlorine or bromine, R1 is hydrogen, methoxy, ethoxy or phenoxy, R2 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, n-propyl or iso-propyl and R is where R3 is allyl, methallyl, crotonyl, prenyl or benzyl, R4 is C1-C5-alkyl, allyl, methallyl, crotonyl, prenyl or benzyl and R4 is C1-C5-alkyl, the mixtures containing not less than 60% of dyes wherein R is or NHC2H4CN, from 0 to 40% of one or more dyes wherein R is and from 0 to 40% of one or more dyes wherein R is the two last-mentioned components accounting for not less than 5% of the mixture. The mixtures are exceptionally useful for dyeing polyesters.

Abstract: An azo dye comprising a heterocyclic diazo component, of the general formula I where D is a radical of the formula Y is nitro, chlorine or bromine, Z is hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, cyano or nitro, R1 is C1-C4-alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by hydroxyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, cyano, C1-C4-alkanoyloxy, C1-C4-alkoxycarbonyl, C1-C4-alkanoylamino, C1-C4-alkylaminocarbonyloxy, C1-C4-alkoxycarbonyloxy, chlorine, phenyl and/or phenoxy, or is cyclohexyl, propargyl or C3-C5-alkenyl, or is a radical of the formula (A-O)n-R2, R2 is C1-C4-alkyl, phenyl or, if n>1, may also be hydrogen, R3 is C1-C8-alkyl, which may be substituted by phenyl or phenoxy, R4 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy or phenoxy, X is oxygen or a direct bond, A is -CH2CH2-, -CH2CH2CH2-, and n is 1, 2 or 3. The dyes of the formula I are very suitable for dyeing synthetic textile materials, especially polyesters.

Cpds. (I) are used for dyeing cellulose, cotton, regenerated cellulose, wool, silk, nylon, paper or esp. leather, in green to black shades with good fastness.

Abstract: Navy mixtures which contain dyes of the formula I I where X is chlorine or bromine, Y is hydrogen, methoxy or ethoxy and R is N(C2H5)2, N(CH2CH=CH2)2 or N(C2H4OCOCH3)2, the mixtures being composed of 10-70% of dyes with Y=H and R=N(C2H5)2, 5-40% of dyes with Y=OCH3 or OC2H5 and R=N(CH2-CH=CH2)2 and 5-80% of dyes with Y=OCH3 or OC2H5 and R=N(C2H4OCOCH3)2. The novel mixtures have excellent tinctorial properties and give very fast dyeings on synthetic polyesters.

Abstract: New monoazo dyes are of formula (I). Used as dispersion dyes for hydrophobic fibres, e.g. cellulose acetates, polyamides, and esp. polyesters, and in some cases for use in the process claimed in DT1811796. Good fastness to light, wet treatments and thermofixing is achieved.
