Abstract:
An electrical connection of a transfer station (100) releasably, repeatably electrically couples with respect to a matching connection of a portable cartridge (40). A substrate (50) in the portable cartridge has electrical contacts (51) on a facing surface. In the transfer station, a matching circuitized flexible substrate (136) has electrical contacts (141) on a facing surface thereof, which are arranged to match the portable cartridge electrical contacts when in a face-to-face relationship. An elastomeric compression element (132), at the rear of the matching substrate, has individual protruding compression members contacting the rear surface and registered with corresponding individual electrical contacts. Elongated electrical contacts are registered with two adjacent individual compression members. A loader engages the portable cartridge, registering the cartridge substrate contacts in face-to-face relation with the matching flexible substrate electrical contacts, and exerting a normal force to the cartridge to compress the compression element and create non-wiping contact between the facing electrical contacts.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modular connector system having an improved mechanical support. SOLUTION: The connector system comprises a first connector assembly (20; 58) electrically connected to the wiring on a first printed-circuit board (26; 54) and a second connector assembly (30; 46) electrically connected to the wiring on a second printed-circuit board (28; 38). Each connector assembly comprises a large number of connector modules (12) joined in a prescribed array shape such as a column. In one of the connector assembly, the column has one or a plurality of drive modules (22; 62), which are engaged with a drive mechanism (32; 66) and either join or separate the connector assembly. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a structure for reinforcing interconnection performance between a land grid array (LGA) module and an electrical connector such as a printed wiring board. SOLUTION: A multilayer printed wiring board comprises a plurality of preformed ground layers and power supply layers. At least one of the preformed ground layers and power supply layers comprises a structure for reducing a thickness change to a minimum in order to reduce changes in the thickness to a minimum. The structure for reducing the thickness change to a minimum comprises an aperture pattern in the selected area of at least one layer of the preformed ground layers and power supply layers. The selected area is located near a preformed module site such as an LGA module site in the ground layers and the power supply layers. Each connector assembly includes a number of connector modules (12) that are joined together in a predetermined array suc h as a row. In one of the connector assemblies, the row also includes one or more actuation modules (24; 62). The actuation module or modules are engaged by an actuator mechanism (32; 66) to force the connector assemblies into mating engagement or to draw them apart.

Elektronische Schaltungen, Elektronikbausteine und Fertigungsverfahren werden bereitgestellt. Die elektronische Schaltung beinhaltet eine mehrschichtige Leiterplatte und einen auf Manipulation ansprechenden Sensor, der in die Leiterplatte integriert ist. Der auf Manipulation ansprechende Sensor definiert zumindest zum Teil einen sicheren Raum, der der mehrschichtigen Leiterplatte zugehörig ist. Bei bestimmten Implementierungen beinhaltet der auf Manipulation ansprechende Sensor mehrere auf Manipulation ansprechende Schichten, die in die Leiterplatte integriert sind, die zum Beispiel einen oder mehrere auf Manipulation ansprechende Rahmen und eine oder mehrere auf Manipulation ansprechende Unterlagenschichten beinhalten, wobei der/die auf Manipulation ansprechende(n) Rahmen zumindest zum Teil oberhalb der auf Manipulation ansprechenden Unterlagenschicht(en) angeordnet ist/sind, die gemeinsam den sicheren Raum definieren, wo er sich in die mehrschichtige Leiterplatte erstreckt.
