Abstract: To make adaptive control possible, a controlled variable is detected at each predetermined timing by a detecting section 2, and the controlled variable is compared with a target value by a comparator 3 to obtain a deviation. A manipulated variable is calculated, based on the deviation, by a compensating section 4, and a height H corresponding to the manipulated variable is calculated by a controlling section 5. A manipulated pulse having the height H and a predetermined width W is provided to a controlled system 6 by the controlling section 5. The method is applied to the control of a disk head in a disk storage apparatus.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the position of a head section to a prescribed target position even if the position detecting data of the head section by servo information is not obtainable and to downsize a disk device. SOLUTION: This disk device has a disk (1) which is the recording medium of the data, a spindle motor (2) which rotates the disk, disk rotating speed control means (61 and 62) which supply the spindle current (Ispn) for rotating the disk at a constant speed to the spindle morter, a head section 3 which accesses to the disk, an actuator which moves the head section and head position control means (63-66 and 75) which control the position of the head section (3) by driving the actuator. The head position control means described above acquire the value of the spindle current and control the position of the head section in accordance with the spindle current value by utilizing the changing of the spindle current which varies according to the position changing of the head section.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance tracking accuracy for a target position by reducing effects of disturbances applied to an access mechanism. SOLUTION: A position-detecting part 21 samples a deviation value (p) from the target position of an access mechanism 2. A position feedback-operating part 23 obtains a position feedback value (c) based on the deviation value (p), and updates the position feedback value (c). A velocity-detecting part 22 samples a VCM voltage (v) with a timing, whereby a sampling timing of the deviation value (p) of the access mechanism 2 is interpolated. A velocity feedback- operating part 24 obtains a velocity feedback value (f) on the basis of the VCM voltage (v), updates the velocity feedback value (f) with a timing whereby the update timing of the position feedback value (c) is interpolated, and drives a VCM 10 of the access mechanism 2 by a drive current u=c+f which is obtained by adding the position feedback value (c) and the velocity feedback value (f).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an error caused by disc shift by performing connection to the head position control means for filter means depending on the determined amount of disc shift. SOLUTION: Filter table of a head A is prepared by performing a flow for the turn on of power. A filter is turned on and a microcode on a disc is read out. In this regard, a filter is used based on a prepared table. A preset shift criterion is read out and the read head is changed to a head B. Preparation of a filter table for the head B is then started and a table is prepared for the table. If an error occurs during preparation of the table to cause a time-out, 0 is written on the table thus preparing a table. Subsequently, a maximum value of stable variable X is searched on the table and the shift state is discussed for every head. The shift state is discussed based on the table and if not a11=0 on the table, it is judged that the table is prepared normally.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To rotate a magnetic disk with low-cost optimum characteristics by mounting one or two magnetic disks, specifying the motors for rotatably driving the disks from one and two periods of the start, and controlling the negative feedback coefficient responsive to the number. CONSTITUTION: A hard disk drive 10 can selectively coaxially mount one or two magnetic disks 18 in the hub 22 of a spindle motor 20, and applies a voltage to rotate the motor 20. The first period t1 and next period t2 at the time of starting the motor 20 are measured and stored, and time constant Tm is obtained based on period t1 and next period t2 and the time constant Tm according to a predetermined formula. Then, one or two of the disks 18 are specified according to whether the constant Tm is smaller than the preset time constant Tms or not, and the rotation of the motor 20 is controlled by a card 34 by using optimum feedback coefficient k1 /k2 . Thus, it can be realized simply with low cost by the optimum starting time, high rotating accuracy, power conservation and reduction in size.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate the occurrence of excessive overshoot even though the speed of the head becomes excessive during the track followup operation by stopping the input of a head positional error signal to an integrator at the time when the speed of head is out of the specified range. CONSTITUTION: A switch 26 provided between a circuit 14 for detecting head positional error and the digital integrator 28 is in the OFF state when the signal of excessive head speed is received from a circuit 24 for detecting head speed, and the head positional error signal Yn is not supplied to the digital integrator 28. Consequently, a normal deviation compensating signal In does not become unreasonably excessive since the signal In is generated without the integration of the head positional error signal Yn. Thus, the overshoot does not become excessive.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control apparatus by which a spindle motor at its start or the like can reach quickly a high-speed rotation state that data can be accessed by a method in which the driving force of the spindle motor is controlled on the basis of a difference obtained at a time when a new adjustment target frequency is input to a comparator in a frequency lock loop. SOLUTION: A measuring frequency is input to a frequency comparator 12, and its output is given to a charging pump 14. The output of the charging pump 14 is given to a loop filter 16 so as to be waveform-shaped. Its output is given to a motor driving mechanism 18 so as to control a motor driving current as the output of the motor driving mechanism 18. By the controlled driving current, a spindle motor 20 is turned. The rotational speed of the spindle motor 20 is converted into a frequency by a V/F converter 22 so as to be input to the frequency converter 12 as the measuring frequency. The difference between the measuring frequency obtained from the rotational speed of a motor and a final target frequency is input to a digital filter 30.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve the positioning accuracy at the time of positioning an object to be controlled to a target position. CONSTITUTION: A main control section 68 inputs a head position signal y(n) indicating the deviation of the present position of a magnetic head from a target position at every sampling period Ts and generates a first control signal c1(n) indicating the manipulated variable corresponding to the deviation of the present location of the head from the target position indicated by the signal y(n), a second control signal c2(n) indicating the manipulated variable corresponding to the deviation of the position of the head from the target position after a prescribed period of time estimated from the present position of the head, an integrated signal in(n) indicating the manipulated variable obtained by performing integrating operations in accordance with the signal y(n), and motor control signals u1(n) and u2(n) by adding the integrated signal in(n) to the control signals c1(n) and c2(n). The control signals u1(n) and u2(n) are alternately outputted as motor current control signals u(n) at the 1/2 period of the sampling period Ts through a switching section 122.
