    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission device having an alternate transmission function between different types of reception terminals by containing an alternate transmission means trying alternate transmission to the other reception terminal which a transmission opposite party possesses when a transmission processing is not succeeded under a prescribed condition. SOLUTION: A transmission means transmits the contents of messages, which are stored in a second data base for temporarily storing the contents of the messages, to one of reception terminals which the transmission opposite party possesses based on address information stored in a first data base. When the transmission processing by the transmission means is not succeeded under the prescribed condition, the alternate transmission means tries alternate transmission to the other reception terminal which the transmission means possesses. PC 10 operates the transmission source (data transmission device) of the message, for example. CPU 11 being a main controller executes various programs under the control of an operating system.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exchange high-secrecy information while securing safety by using an IC card. SOLUTION: An IC card 30 is provided with a ROM 38 holding an ID, clock 42, RAM 40 storing a password, RAM 36 storing an enciphering program and CPU 34 for executing processing, reads the stored ID and time (t) counted by the clock 42, enciphers these ID, password and time (t) according to the enciphering program, and outputs them to a computer system 10. At the computer system 10, the outputs from the IC card 30 are deciphered, the password is extracted, it is judged whether the deciphered password is coincident with a registered password or not and when they are coincident, access is permitted but when they are not coincident, access is not permitted.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid an unexpected state such as the destruction of data by selecting transfer data by an amount matching the storage capacity of a 2nd processor according to attribute information included in the transfer data and transferring the data to a 2nd processor. SOLUTION: Data held on a hard disk device 25 as a 1st storage device are read out and only records of the read data within a specific period from the current date are stored in a RAM 23 as a temporary file. It is judged whether or not the size of the temporary file stored in the RAM 23 is within the permissible range of the SRAM 13 of a PC card 100 as a 2nd storage device, and the temporary file is transferred to the PC card 100 when the judgement result is affirmative or not transferred when inaffirmative. Consequently, an unexpected state such as the destruction of data can be avoided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an information processor to be transitted to power saving operation by an optimum timer value while maintaining balance between usability and power management and a control method for the processor. CONSTITUTION: The information processor is transitted to a power saving mode after the lapse of time set up by a power saving timer from a final user input (or final processing operation), and when a succeeding user input (or a task restart request) is generated at a comparatively early period from the start of the power saving mode, the succeeding power saving timer is reset to a comparatively long period because a user may feel the reduction of operability due to the too short power saving timer. When time from the start of the power saving mode up to the succeeding user input is long, transition to the power saving mode is matched with a user's will, but a power saving effect can be improved by faster transi-tion so that the succeeding power saving timer is reset to a shorter time, thereby transitting the processor to power saving operation by an optimum timer value without being uninten-tionally interrupted.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of illicit intrusion from a loaded device into an information processor by stopping power supply to the loaded device when a security mode is selected. CONSTITUTION: When the setting of the security mode is instructed, a card utility program requests the issuance of a false card removal event to card service. At the time of receiving the request, a client device driver has an illusion that a PC card has been ejected and opens the resource of a card slot 26. Then the card utility program informs the card service of the setting of the security mode together with a pass word. Therefor even when the PC card is reinserted into the slot 26 in the security mode, the card service neglects the insertion of the card and does not transmit an event indicating the insertion of the PC card to the client device driver.

    Abstract: A superior data sending apparatus has an alternate forwarding function for the exchange of data by different receiving terminal models. A sender attempts to send a message to one of several receiving terminals carried by a receiver. When communication is not established under a predetermined condition, e.g., within a predetermined period of time, the sender then tries alternate message forwarding to another receiving terminal carried by the same receiver. Since alternate forwarding is automatically performed in accordance with alternate forwarding information registered in advance, no effort is required of a user. Even when the received data processing capability (e.g., the input available character size) differs between the originally designated receiving terminal and the alternate receiving terminal, the system changes the format of the contents of message or the size of the message to one that is adequate, so that an alternate, seamless forwarding can be implemented.

    Abstract: A superior data sending apparatus having an alternate forwarding function for the exchange of data by different receiving terminal models, a data sending method, and a computer readable memory medium in which a data sending program is stored involves the following processing operations. First, a sender tries the sending of a message to one of receiving terminals monitored by a receiver. When communication is not established under a predetermined condition, e.g., within a predetermined period of time, the sender then tries alternate message forwarding to another receiving terminal monitored by the same receiver. Since such alternate forwarding is automatically performed in accordance with alternate forwarding information registered in advance, no effort is required of a user. Even when the received data processing capability (e.g., the input available character size) differs between the originally designated receiving terminal and the alternate receiving terminal, the system changes the format of the contents of message or the size of the message to one that is adequate, so that an alternate, seamless forwarding can be implemented.
