    Abstract: A process for producing an oxymethylene copolymer comprises the steps of polymerizing trioxane and cyclic ether in the presence of a boron trifluoride catalyst, adding a hindered amine compound to the polymer obtained by said polymerization, and stabilizing unstable chain ends of the polymer. The oxymethylene copolymer thus obtained provides excellent heat resistance and superior mechanical properties.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve flowability, transferability and mold releasability at the time of molding a substrate, to mold a high precision substrate and to obtain an optical recording medium having satisfactory recording and reproducing characteristics with the substrate. SOLUTION: A resin compsn. based on polycarbonate and contg. 0.001-0.05wt.% higher fatty acid ester of polyhydric alcohol based on the weight of the polycarbonate is molded to form a substrate. The ratio (Mw/Mn) of the wt. average mol. wt. (Mw) of the polycarbonate to the number average mol. wt. (Mn) is >=2.5 and the viscosity average mol. wt. of the polycarbonate is 13,000-18,000. A recording layer is formed on the substrate.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition improved in color ton and heat stability and reduced in mold deposit by mixing a polyacetal resin with dipentaerythritol and/or tripentaerythritol.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the title copolymer excellent in thermal stability. etc., by copolymerizing trioxane with a cyclic ether in the presence of a catalyst, deactivating the catalyst with a hindered amine, adding a stabilizer, water, etc., to the polymn. system, and thermally treating the system. CONSTITUTION:Trioxane is copolymerized with a cyclic ether (e.g. ethylene oxide) in the presence of a polymn. catalyst selected from the group consisting of boron trifluoride and a coordination compd. of boron trifluoride with an organic oxygen or sulfur compd. (e. g. boron trifluride diethyl etherate), thereby giving a copolymer comprising oxymethylene units and other oxyalkylene units. After the completion of copolymn., a hindered amine of the formula (wherein R is H or a 1-30C monovalent org. group; R to R are each 1-5C alkyl; n is 1 or higher; and R is an n-valent org. group) is added to the copolymn. system to deactivate the catalyst, then a stabilizer, water, and an alkali or alkaline earth metal salt are added to the system, and the system is thermally treated at 100-260 deg.C.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the copolymer having excellent thermal stability and mechanical properties by polymerizing trioxane with a cyclic ether in the presence of a specific catalyst, adding a specific compound to deactivate the catalyst, adding a stabilizer and water, and heating. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of trioxane and a cyclic ether is polymerized in the presence of 0.001-0.1 pts.wt. (use) based on 100 pts.wt. trioxane of a catalyst of a coordinated compound of boron trifluoride, and an O or S-containing organic compound (preferably boron trifluoride diethyl etherate), preferably 0.01-3 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. oxymethylene copolymer of a compound shown by the formula (R is H or 1-30C monofunctional organic residue; R to R are 1-5C alkyl; (n) is >=1; R is n-functional organic residue) is added to deactivate the catalyst. Then, a stabilizer (preferably 0.1-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the copolymer of hindered phenol compound) and water are added to the polymer system and heated at 100-260 deg.C to give the objective copolymer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject copolymer having excellent strength and thermal stability in a short time in high yield by preparatorily polymerizing a cyclic ether in the presence of a polymerization catalyst such as BF3, adding the polymerization product to trioxane, separately adding cyclic ether to trioxane and carrying out bulk-polymerization of the components.
