    Abstract: A tandem Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer is provided. In the mass spectrometer, the ions selected by a FT-ICR mass analyzer, which can perform an ion selection process and a mass measurement process with a time interval between the processes, are transmitted through an ion guide to a collision cell, which is located a predetermined distance from the FT-ICR mass analyzer, to split into fragment ions. The fragment ions are transmitted to the FT-ICR mass analyzer that measures the mass of the fragment ions. The fragment ions are generated in the collision cell 60 established separately from the FT-ICR mass analyzer 40 according to the mass spectrometer.     Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide a neutron generating source that may generate a high neutron flux by forming plasma in a high density in the vicinity of a target and by preventing the target surface from being excessively heated, and to achieve the object, a magnetic field is formed in the vicinity of the target to generate plasma inside a space, in which the magnetic field is formed so as to produce plasma in a high density in the vicinity of the target, thereby allowing a high neutron flux to be emitted from a target. In addition, the invention prevents the target surface from being excessively heated by producing plasma in pulse mode and by applying target voltage in pulse mode and secures a continuous process by adjusting a target bias voltage for targets that have depleted the adsorbed elements during the process to allow re-adsorption. The present invention allows a shape of the target to be modified unrestrictedly into a plate, cylinder, line, or the like for various applications including larger area, portability, or the like, and further, allows a hollow target to be used to ameliorate the efficiency of nuclear fusion reaction and facilitates target recycling.

    Abstract: The aim of the present invention is to provide a neutron source which forms high-density plasma near a target and prevents the surface of the target from being overheated, to thus generate neutrons with high flux. To this end, a magnetic field is formed in the vicinity of the target, and plasma is generated in the space in which the magnetic field is formed, to thereby form high-density plasma near the target and enable neutrons to be discharged with high flux from the target. Further, plasma is generated in pulses and a target voltage is also applied in pulses to prevent the surface of the target from being overheated. For the target in which adsorption elements are exhausted during reaction, a target bias voltage is adjusted to enable re-adsorption and thus to proceed with the process. Further, the neutron source of the present invention enables the shape of the target to be freely transformed into a flat shape, a cylindrical shape, a linear shape, or the like such that a target that is large, portable, etc. can be utilized in various applications. An empty target can be provided to achieve the improved efficiency of the thermonuclear reaction and the reutilization of the target.
