    Abstract: An ear-wearable device, such as a hearing aid or earbud, includes a plurality of biometric sensors configured to generate sensor measurements indicative of at least an aspect of contact between the housing of the ear-wearable device and the ear canal of the user, and compares the sensor measurements to a stored profile in order to determine whether an authorized user is wearing the ear-wearable device.

    Abstract: Examples of this disclosure relate to an accessory device for a hearing instrument. The accessory device comprises a connector tip that comprises a first wire segment and a second wire segment, lire first and second wire segments are electrically conductive and electrically insulated from each other. The connector tip also comprises a first set of bristles and a second set of bristles. The first and second sets of bristles are electrically conductive. The first set of bristles is electrically connected to the first wire segment and electrically insulated from the second wire segment. The second set of bristles is electrically connected to the second wire segment and electrically insulated from the first wire segment. The first set of bristles is spaced sufficiently far from the second set of bristles as to prevent a short circuit between the first and second sets of bristles.

    Abstract: A system includes a hearing instrument and a case configured to store at least a portion of the hearing instrument. The hearing instrument includes a speaker configured to generate a sound wave, and at least one magnetic component that includes one or more of a coil configured to generate a current in response to detecting an alternating magnetic field, a magnetic shield configured to provide an electromagnetic shield for one or more components of the hearing instrument, a crosspin configured to provide a structural support between two opposing sides of the hearing instrument, a battery, or a charging contact configured to electrically couple the battery to a power source. The case includes a retention magnet configured to generate a static magnetic field that detachably couples at least the portion of the hearing instrument with the case by attracting the magnetic component of the hearing instrument to the case retention magnet.

    Abstract: A method and system are described for providing high-priority notification messages to a user of an ear-wearable device system. The ear-wearable device system includes a physiological sensor present on, within, or carried with the user and an ear-wearable device comprising a speaker, a microphone, a processor, a memory storage, and a wireless communication device.     Abstract: An ear-worn electronic device is configured to be worn by a wearer and comprises a housing configured to be supported at, by, in or on the wearer's ear. A processor is disposed in the housing. A speaker or a receiver is operably coupled to the processor. A radio frequency transceiver is disposed in the housing and operably coupled to the processor. An antenna is disposed on or in the housing and operably coupled to the transceiver.
