Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to embodiments herein relate to hearing assistance systems and methods for monitoring a device wearer's emotional state and status. In an embodiment, a hearing assistance system is included having an ear-worn device that can include a control circuit and a microphone in electronic communication with the control circuit. The ear-worn device can be configured to monitor signals from the microphone, analyze the signals in order to identify speech, and transmit data based on the signals representing the identified speech to a separate device. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to audio systems including an ear-worn device and providing for remote audio stream management. In an embodiment, an audio system is included having an ear-worn device. The audio system can be configured to receive a notification regarding availability of a remote audio stream, query a wearer of the ear-worn device regarding the remote audio stream, receive an input from the wearer of the ear-worn device regarding the remote audio stream, selectively receive the remote audio stream, and selectively play the remote audio stream through the electroacoustic transducer. Abstract: Examples of this disclosure relate to an accessory device for a hearing instrument. The accessory device comprises a connector tip that comprises a first wire segment and a second wire segment, lire first and second wire segments are electrically conductive and electrically insulated from each other. The connector tip also comprises a first set of bristles and a second set of bristles. The first and second sets of bristles are electrically conductive. The first set of bristles is electrically connected to the first wire segment and electrically insulated from the second wire segment. The second set of bristles is electrically connected to the second wire segment and electrically insulated from the first wire segment. The first set of bristles is spaced sufficiently far from the second set of bristles as to prevent a short circuit between the first and second sets of bristles.

Abstract: A system includes a hearing instrument and a case configured to store at least a portion of the hearing instrument. The hearing instrument includes a speaker configured to generate a sound wave, and at least one magnetic component that includes one or more of a coil configured to generate a current in response to detecting an alternating magnetic field, a magnetic shield configured to provide an electromagnetic shield for one or more components of the hearing instrument, a crosspin configured to provide a structural support between two opposing sides of the hearing instrument, a battery, or a charging contact configured to electrically couple the battery to a power source. The case includes a retention magnet configured to generate a static magnetic field that detachably couples at least the portion of the hearing instrument with the case by attracting the magnetic component of the hearing instrument to the case retention magnet.
