PURPOSE: A composition containing an Ecklonia cava extract treated with an enzyme and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to suppress tyrosinase and melanogenesis. CONSTITUTION: A composition for skin whitening contains 0.001-20 wt% of an Ecklonia cava extract treated with an enzyme as an active ingredient. The enzyme is a cell wall degrading enzyme including celluclast or protease including pectinase. The composition is a cosmetic composition or a pharmaceutical composition. A method for preparing the composition comprises: a step of treating Ecklonia cava with an enzyme; and a step of extracting the enzyme-treated Ecklonia cava with water, an organic solvent, or a mixture thereof.

PURPOSE: A benzoic acid amide compound is provided to have excellent a skin-whitening effect without side effects by suppressing melanin generation and decreasing tyrosinase activity. CONSTITUTION: A benzoic acid amide compound, an isomer thereof, pharmaceutically-acceptable salt thereof, a prodrug thereof, a hydrate thereof, or a solvate thereof is represented by chemical formula 1. In the chemical formula 1: each of R1, R3, and R4 is independently selected from hydrogen, hydroxy, C1-C5 alkoxy, C3-C6 cycloalkoxy, aryloxy, and C1-C15 haloalkoxy; R2 is selected from hydrogen, C1-C5 alkyl, C3-C6 cycloalkyl, aryl, and C1-C5 haloalkyl; and n is an integer from 1-5.

PURPOSE: A composition containing Artemisia annua L. extract is provided to promote skin cells and collagen synthesis and to improve anti-aging and anti-wrinkling. CONSTITUTION: A composition for anti-aging contains 0.0001-10 wt% of Artemisia annua L. extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using anhydrous and hydrous low alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, acetone, butylenes glycol, ethyl acetate, diethyl acetate, diethyl ether, benzene, chloroform, or hexane. The composition is used for anti-wrinkling and elasticity enhancement.

The Oldenlandia diffusa extract is contained in 0.001-10 weight%. The beta-hydroxylic acid is beta-hydroxybutyric acid, beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutylate, carnitine, 3-hydroxypropionic acid, or salicylic acid. The beta-hydroxylic acid is contains in 0.001-0.5 weight%.

A method for preparing ortho-dihydroxyisoflavones having high antioxidative and skin-whitening effects through the biotransformation system is provided to improve the preparation yield of ortho-dihydroxyisoflavones by using microorganisms. The ortho-dihydroxyisoflavones including 7,8,4݆-trihydroxyisoflavone, 7,6,4݆-trihydroxyisoflavone, 7,3݆,4݆-trihydroxyisoflavone and 7,5,3݆,4݆-tetrahydroxyisoflavone are prepared by biotransforming daidzein and genistein with a microorganism derived from Actinomyces selected from Streptomyces evermitilis, Nocardia farcinica and Streptomyces lincolnesis through site specific hydroxylation at 3݆ site in a batch reactor to which oxygen is supplied.
