Abstract: PURPOSE: A driver protection device is provided to maximally prevent the legs of a driver from being injured by a brake pedal by rotating compulsorily the brake pedal towards the front of a vehicle when a collision accident happens. CONSTITUTION: A driver protection device comprises a brake pedal(14), a collision bracket(16), and a pedal rotation device(20). The brake pedal is connected to a pedal mounting bracket(11) in order to be elastically rotated by a medium of a pedal hinge shaft(12) and a return spring(13). The collision bracket is connected to the pedal mounting bracket in order to be rotated by the medium of a rotary shaft(15). The pedal rotation device connects a cowl bracket(17) fixed to the pedal mounting bracket and the collision bracket. The pedal rotation device rotates compulsorily the brake pedal towards the front by being connected to an operation protrusion(14a) of the brake pedal when the pedal mounting bracket or the cowl bracket moves towards the rear by the collision energy due to the collision accident.
