Abstract:
An apparatus for rapidly changing a channel by using plural multicast in an IPTV network and a method thereof are provided to supply optimized multicast stream information to a user terminal after separately generating at least one multicast stream to a different delay time is applied, thereby rapidly changing a channel. A fast channel changing system comprises a headend, a channel server(120), a router(130) and a user terminal(140) on an IPTV network. The channel server comprises a multicast module(121) and a channel analyzing module(122). A different delay time value is applied to each original multicast stream to be broadcast by the multicast module. The multicast module generates a delay multicast stream. The channel analyzing module dynamically analyzes the generated delay multicast stream in real time.

A control device, an education device, a learning apparatus, a control method, an educational method, and a learning method of a remote education system supporting a small group discussion service are provided for learners to perform the class of a small group debating type, thereby overcoming the limit of remote education and activating the class participation of the learners more. An input unit(221) receives small group participants selected by an educator among learners in remote education class. A small group control message generatior(222) produces a small group production message based on the list of the small group participants received the input unit. A small group control message transmitter(223) transmits the small group production message generated in the small group control message generator to the control device(210) of a remote education system. A control device comprises a small group control message receiver(211), a session information management unit(212), and a server session controller(213). According to a small group production request received from an education device(220), the establishment of a communications session among the learners is indicated. The session information management unit produces the session control information of the small group participants. The server session controller transmits the session control information generated in the session information management unit to the small group participants and indicates the establishment of the communications session among the small group participants. A learning device(230) establishes the communications session according to the session control information received from the control device, and exchanges the data of the small group participants through the communications session. The session information receiver receives the session control information of the small group participants selected by the educator among the learners in the remote education class from the control device of the remote education system.

An apparatus and a method for detecting OAM module configuration negotiation request in EPON system are provided to distinguish a normal message from a message created by an attacker by comparing a time stamp of an incoming message to a sequence number of a local DTE, and comparing a sequence number of the incoming message to a sequence number counter of the local DTE(Data Terminating Entity). A transmission unit(510) transmits a local OAM(Operations, Administration and Maintenance) message. A timer(530) writes the time of transmitting the local OAM message. A counter(540) gives a serial number to the messages according to the output order when transmitting the local OAM message. A receiver(500) receives a remotely operated OAM message. A comparator(520) compares the transmission time and the serial number which are included in the remote OAM message to the transmission time and the serial number which are controlled by a local OAM module.

A set top box having a multi user game function and a method for supporting a multi user game in the same are provided to enable plural users to enjoy different games or the same game through one television independently by supporting the game by using the television as a display unit. A storage(34) stores game data. A remote controller control unit(35) respectively identifies plural remote controllers(23), and transceives signals according to each remote controller through a zigbee communication mode. A multimedia processor(31) processes vide data and audio data of one or more selected games. A screen controller(32) divides a television screen into plural screens, controls a size of the processed video signal so as to be suitable for the screen. A game controller(33) divides a screen to be suitable for the number of users according to a user command received through the remote controller control unit. After registering users and remote controllers according to each screen, the game controller confirms which screen is corresponded to the remote control signal received through the remote controller control unit. After that, the game controller controls the multimedia processor and the screen controller so as to perform a command designated to the corresponding screen.

A method for searching a digital multimedia service by using a dashboard and a set top box having the same are provided to enable a user to grasp a current service search location and an entire structure by displaying an entire service layer structure on one screen when searching a service, thereby quickly searching a desired service. If a user inputs a menu selection request, a user interface is provided(S110,S120). The user interface is formed in a dashboard type where plural layers are displayed within one screen. The plural layers are produced by sequentially dividing all suppliable multimedia services from an upper concept to a lower concept. One layer of the plural layers is selected by a user(S130). If a top layer is selected, detail items produced by classifying the top concept of the multimedia service are provided, and one of the detail items is selected(S150). If one layer is selected among the rest layers except the top layer and the lowest layer, a detail item belonging to a lower rank of a detail item selected from an upper layer of the selected layer is provided. One of the detail items is selected(S170). If the lowest layer is selected, information about a multimedia service designated by the layers is displayed(S180).

A method for offering contents information in a VOD(Video Online Demand) service and a VOD service system for performing the method are provided to display a contents list and contents information through representative moving pictures and story boards, thereby supplying information related to user-selected contents visually and acoustically. A transmitting and receiving unit(120) receives a VOD service request from a VOD client through a network, and transmits data corresponding to the request to the VOD client. A contents storage unit(110) stores all of moving picture contents. A contents process unit(200) creates representative moving pictures for respective moving picture contents stored in the contents storage unit, and constitutes an initial screen obtained by combining the representative moving pictures. A controller(130) transmits the initial screen created by the contents process unit when the VOD client requests a contents list through the transmitting and receiving unit.

A system and a method for providing a bi-directional multimedia service in a subscriber network are provided to allow a user of a subscriber network to receive various bi-directional multimedia services such as a Web service, a game, a messenger, a video call, and a virtual environment through a minimum level of subscriber terminal. A service server(100) generates multimedia information requested by a service available subscriber terminal among bi-directional multimedia service available information and service available information through a subscriber network to respective subscriber terminals(500-500-n) based on registration information of the subscriber terminals(500-500-n). A data processing server(200) receives user multimedia information transmitted from the subscriber terminal, provides it to the service server(100), and processes the multimedia information generated by the service server(100) into data suitable for the subscriber network. A channel management server(300) enables the multimedia information processed by the data processing server(200) to be received by a particular subscriber terminal, and manages a communication channel of the subscriber network in order to transmit the multimedia information transmitted from the particular subscriber terminal to the data processing server(200).

PURPOSE: A packet switching system using a distributed packet processing unit is provided to distribute many low-priced remote packet processing units outside of a switch instead of a high performance packet processing unit when configuring a high-speed switching system, thereby improving system performance and system configurations. CONSTITUTION: A packet switching system(200) has many packet processors(21) and a switching unit(22). The packet processors(21) process data packets. The switching unit(22) switches the processed data packets. Packet processors(21) consist of packet processors(24) for processing data packets transmitted from external users(20) and transmission devices(25) transmitting the processed data. The switching unit(22) comprises as follows. An interface(26) receives the data transmitted from the transmission devices(25). An exchange device(27) transmits the data to a rear switch(28). The rear switch(28) outputs the transmitted data by switching the data. A main processor(29) transmits packet path information and internal switching information to the packet processors(24) and the rear switch(28), respectively.

본 발명은 비동기 전달 모드(ATM) 교환 시스팀에서 입중계 중계선 호제공 방법에 관한 것으로서, 비동기 전달 모드(ATM) 교환 시스팀에 적용되는 입중계 중계선 호제공 방법에 있어서, 타국으로부터의 호 요구 메시지를 수신하면 입중계 중계선 호처리 자 프로세스를 생성하고, 국번 번역을 위한 시스팀 라이브러리를 호출하여 국번 번역후 착신번호를 번역한 후, 스위치 경로를 설정한 후, 셀 헤더의 라우팅 태그 정보를 저장하고, 착신 가입자로부터 수신 대기 응답 신호를 수신하면 타국으로 어드레스 수신 완료 메시지를 송신하고, 착신 가입자로부터 연결 완료 통보를 수신하면 셀 헤더의 라우팅 태그 정보를 통보하여 데이타 셀이 전송될 수 있도록 하고, 타국으로 응답 메시지를 송신하는 제1단계(100 내지 119); 및 통화중 상태에서 호 복구 메시지를 수신하면 복구 절차를 수행하여 스위치 경로를 복구하고, 셀 헤더의 라우팅 태그 정보를 복구하도록 요구하고, 호처리에 사용된 자원을 복구하는 제2단계(120 내지 131)를 포함하여 타국으로부터 입중계되는 호에 대한 호제어 절차를 수행함으로써 BISUP 입중계 중계선 호를 제공하며, 타국의 B-ISDN 가입자로부터 B-ISDN 서비스 요구에 대한 서비스를 제공할 수 있어, 타국의 B-ISDN 가입자가 자국의 B-ISDN 가입자와 B-ISDN 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
