PURPOSE: A data transceiving device in communication system and a method thereof are provided to transceive the reference image and 3D additional image as a 3D image data by a side-by-side or top-down stereoscopic image format in a dual stream digital broadcasting system. CONSTITUTION: An image format unit(810) formats basic image and 3D additional image of a 3D image in 3D broadcasting service in a stereoscopic image. A first encoder(820) encodes the basic image data corresponding to a formatted basic image. A second encoder(825) encodes 3D additional image data corresponding to a formatted 3D additional image. A multiplexing unit(830) multiplexes an encoded basic image data and an encoded 3D additional image data into a 3D image data of a single stream.

PURPOSE: A transmission device for a 2D mode generation in a digital terminal, a 2D mode reproducing device, and a 2D reproducing method are provided to improve image quality by using 3D related information. CONSTITUTION: A generating unit(910) generates additional 3D related information. The additional 3D related information includes identification information. The identification information shows an image suitable for a 2D mode reproduction among a reference image and an additional image. An identification information generator(915) generates identification information based on the format type of a 3D program. A providing unit(930) provides 3D related additional information to a digital terminal.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for multiplexing multimedia data are provided to variably multiplex multimedia data based on the size of a packet determined according to the attribute of the multimedia data. CONSTITUTION: Based on the attributed of multimedia data, a multiplexing control unit(520) determines the size of a packet variably. The multiplexing control unit determines an FEC(Forward Error Correction) type of the multimedia data variably. Based on the determined size and FEC of the packet, PSI(Program Specification Information) generation unit(540) generates PSI(Program Specification Information) data. A multiplexing unit(550) multiplexes the multimedia data and the PSI data respectively.

PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image data download service providing/receiving method of a digital broadcasting system and a device thereof are provided to provide 3D form advertisement and particular event thereby providing more vivid 3D still image service to a user. CONSTITUTION: A generator(912) generates information about the file names of the first image data and the second image data. A transmitter(914) transmits the first image data, the information about the file name of the first image data, t he second image data and the information of the file name of the second image data. The file name of the second image data includes the prefix showing the second image data among the stereoscopic video data.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting eye location using an eye descriptor are provided to accurately detect eye location by detecting the geometric eye location through the similarity of an eye. CONSTITUTION: A face image detector(110) detects a face image from an input image, and a similarity calculation unit(120) compares the detected face image with a studied pupil descriptor to calculate pupil similarity. The similarity calculation unit calculates the eye position in the detected face image through the calculated pupil similarity, and an eye position calculator(130) calculates the pupil location of a user based on the calculated face image.

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for creating and consuming a multiview image media file are provided to supply a tile-based multiview video service while keeping the compatibility with an existing multiview video system. CONSTITUTION: A multiview image encoding unit(202) is configured to receive a multiview image and output multiview image data, i.e. ES(Elementary Stream), and additional information regarding the multiview image data, i.e. ESI(Elementary Stream Interface). The multiview image data may be tiled multiview image data. The apparatus for creating multiview image media files includes an input unit(206), a control unit(208), and a media file creation unit(210). The input unit is configured to receive tiled multiview image data outputted from the multiview image encoding unit. The input unit may also be configured to receive additional information outputted from the multiview image encoding unit. The control unit is configured to divide tiled multiview image data, which has been inputted through the input unit, into at least one image group including at least one view image. The media file creation unit is configured to create a media file including at least one image group created by the control unit. The media file created by the media file creation unit may include information regarding the inputted tiled multiview image data, i.e. multiview type information. The multiview type information may be created by the media file creation unit or by a separate multiview type information creation unit. The media file creation unit or the multiview type information creation unit may create multiview type information using the additional information inputted through the input unit.

According to image configuration information, the stereoscopic image is composed(408). According to control information, the stereoscopic image is played(410). The control information controls the playing of the stereoscopic image. The image configuration information directs type composing the stereoscopic image or type of file.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for multiplexing and de-multiplexing based on digital multimedia broadcasting are provided to supply AV(Audio/Video) contents of high quality by a DMB receiver which is capable of receiving scalable service maintaining compatibility with a general DMB receiver which does not receive a scalable service. CONSTITUTION: A base layer OD / BIFS(Object Descriptor/Binary Format for Scene) generator(320) generates an OD/BIFS stream of a base layer video. An enhancement layer OD / BIFS generator(330) generates an OD / BIFS stream of enhanced layer video. Packetizers(340,370) packetize elementary stream of the base layer, object information of the base layer, elementary stream of the enhancement layer and object information of the enhancement layer. Section generators(350,360) generate an SCST(Scalable Contents Service Table) section and a PSI section. Multiplexers(380,390) generate a base layer transport stream and an enhanced layer transport stream.

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for providing realistic immersive multimedia services are provided to select a stereoscopic image area corresponding to a sound source of a stereoscopic audio using connection information between the stereoscopic audio and the stereoscopic image, thereby matching a specific object with an audio. CONSTITUTION: A stereoscopic audio and a stereoscopic image connected with the stereoscopic audio are obtained(302). Connection information between the stereoscopic audio and the stereoscopic image is obtained(304). An area corresponding to a fixed sound source of the stereoscopic audio is selected from a played stereoscopic image using the connection information(306). The connection information includes identification information for each sound source of the stereoscopic audio and identification information of each area included in the stereoscopic image.
