Abstract: The invention relates to phthalocyanines with formula wherein Me means twice hydrogen, twice lithium, magnesium, zinc, copper, nickel, VO, TiO, AlCl, AlOH, ALOCOCH3, AlOCOCF3, SiCl2 or Si(OH)2, at least four of the radicals R1 to R16 independently mean nitrogenous heterocyclic residue, pyrrolidine-1-yl, pirazolidine-1-yl, imidazolidine-1-yl, oxazolidine-3-yl, isoxazolidine-2-yl, piperidine-1-yl, piperazine-1-yl or thiomorpholine-4-yl, which can be substituted by C1-C4 alkyl, benzyl, phenylethyl or phenyl and which are bound by a ring nitrogen atom to the phthalocyanine skeleton, and each of the remaining radicals R1 to R16 means hydrogen, halogen, hydroxysulfonyl or C1-C4 dialkylsulfamoyl. The invention also relates to the use of phthalocyanines substituted by heterocyclic radicals for marking liquids such as mineral oils, which contain phthalocyanines of this type.

Abstract: A process for printing or coating a substrate with a liquid-crystalline composition and at least one non-liquid-crystalline print or coating as a multilayer and a substrate produced by this process is described. The liquid-crystalline composition contains at least one compound having two polymerizable groups and at least one compound having only one polymerizable group, and optional further additives. The non-liquid-crystalline print or coating contains one or more IR- or UV-absorbent or fluorescent dye or pigment. The process and the printed substrate are useful in producing counterfeiting-proof marking of articles.
