Abstract: An aqueous ink comprises water, a water-insoluble coloring material, and plurality of water-soluble organic solvents and the plurality of water-soluble organic solvents including a good medium or good mediums for the water-insoluble coloring material and a poor medium or poor mediums for the water-insoluble coloring material. The ratio of the content of the poor medium and the content of the good medium is in a specific range. A water-soluble organic solvent showing the maximum Ka value out of respective Ka values of the plurality of water-soluble organic solvents is the poor medium. When the aqueous ink is in contact with a specific reaction liquid, the dissolution state or dispersed state of the water-insoluble coloring material in the ink is made unstable. As a result, an image which has a sufficiently large area factor even with a small amount of ink droplets and is excellent in image density, bleeding resistance, and fixability can be obtained. In addition, the aqueous ink is excellent in storage stability.

Abstract: A cyan ink applicable to an ink set has multiple aqueous inks each containing at least: water; a water-insoluble coloring material; and multiple water-soluble organic solvents including a good solvent with respect to the water-insoluble coloring material and a poor solvent with respect to the water-insoluble coloring material. A ratio of a poor solvent to a good solvent in the cyan ink is in a specific range. A water-soluble organic solvent showing the maximum Ka value out of respective Ka values of the multiple water-soluble organic solvents is the poor solvent. A ratio of a poor solvent to a good solvent in an arbitrary aqueous ink in the ink set except the cyan ink and the ratio of the poor solvent to the good solvent in the cyan ink satisfy a specific relationship.

Abstract: To provide a recording liquid feed path, recording liquid container, and recording liquid feed device having the same, as well surface modifying method for the recording liquid feed device to feed efficiently a recording liquid for ejection through a feed tube. If the interior of the feed tube is not rendered hydrophilic as shown in Fig. 3A, air which has passed through a wall of the feed tube forms a bubble, which bubble adheres to an inner surface of the feed tube and obstructs a flow of the recording liquid. But if the inner surface of the feed tube is rendered hydrophilic to form a hydrophilic surface as shown in Fig. 3B, the recording liquid is conducted along the hydrophilic surface at the inner surface portion of the feed tube with the bubble adhered thereto, so that the adhesion area of the bubble to the feed tube inner surface is reduced and the bubble floats from the inner surface. Consequently, when the recording liquid is fed, the bubble can be removed easily by the flow of the recording liquid and thus the flow of the recording liquid can be prevented from being obstructed by the bubble.

Abstract: Método de modificación de superficies para modificar una superficie que comprende, como mínimo, una parte de la superficie de un elemento estructural mediante la administración de un grupo funcional para la modificación de dicha superficie, en el que dicho método de modificación de superficies comprende: una primera etapa de administración de un líquido que contiene un polímero que comprende una primera parte que tiene un grupo funcional y una segunda parte que tiene una energía interfacial diferente de la de dicho grupo funcional y, aproximadamente, igual a la energía superficial de dicha superficie y que es diferente del material constituyente que forma dicha superficie, en el que dicho líquido es capaz de disolver dicho polímero y es humectable con dicha superficie de dicho elemento a tratar; una segunda etapa de orientación de la segunda parte de dicho polímero hacia dicha superficie y la orientación de dicha primera parte hacia una cara diferente de dicha superficie para proporcionar dicho grupo funcional a dicha superficie; una tercera etapa de administración de un catalizador para dividir un polímero en el líquido que contiene el polímero en dicha primera etapa; una cuarta etapa de división de dicho polímero mientras dicho catalizador de división se concentra en dicho líquido durante su evaporación utilizando dicho catalizador para dividir un polímero para generar polímeros fraccionados sobre dicha superficie; y una quinta etapa de unión de dichos polímeros fraccionados entre sí sobre dicha superficie, en la que dicho polímero se obtiene de una manera en la que el fraccionamiento se realiza mediante dicho catalizador para dividir un polímero y se unen los polímeros fraccionados.
